@@aboortedlastname9279 I would happily do the same if I was able to. I know when I moved from my i5 9600k to my 3600xt I gave away my old motherboard and processor it feels good as it went to a 10 year old who wanted his first build. Right now I'm sitting without a GPU because I sold mines to help pay towards my mother's funeral that was last week as my dad couldn't afford to do it by himself. We all make sacrifices from time to time I know it will take me the best part of a year to afford another GPU as I don't earn alot of money with being a stay at home carer and dad (UK benefit system only £250 per month) but for the reason I have to wait I'm glad I helped my dad. That's why I love watching jay do things like this it shows kindness not greed.

@@incediumignis There's a reason why games underutilize it. True ray tracing is incredibly processor intensive and can take hours per frame with multi gpu setups ( for hollywood quality ray casting/tracing). $500.. that made me remember my stupid choice back around 2017 when I got a i3 4170, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd pc for about $500 even though a similar pc with a better processor an i5 (6400 or 7400 can't remember which) was about $50~70 more and would have given me better performance. I still feel that regret until now. And though I still have it the motherboard crapped out once and had to be replaced and hard drive failed about a year ago. I wish I knew more about pcs back then and looked at benchmarks instead of cheaping out and thinking that i3 would be FINE.

He did an unboxing…makes sense to do different videos using it since the Corsair is a downgrade from his daily driver….after so many videos, we’ll eventually see him post a full review for it. I’m actually interested in what he experiences with it and it’s compatibility with iQue…personally I am NOT a fan of the latest versions…I personally created an all Corsair build specifically to cut down on software controls for lighting and fans and whatnot….and iQue is a mess now, I hate it, and will be producing an updated indepth build guide using all Asus hardware and peripherals because it’s so much more end user friendly than what has happened with the iQue software…

I'm getting a little curious about the older CPUs in modern games. Are we getting closer to the point at which first gen Ryzen 7 CPUs are catching up to Kaby Lake in games just because game support more cores now? I don't think that the old Ryzen is faster than Kaby Lake but they should catch up at least a little bit.

There was a weird thing with the Master Chief Collection with it doing super intense antimalware scans if you launched it. I would not be surprised if he had experienced this. Towards the end of the video it seems that he was talking about the Halo Infinite beta, which on the other hand is actually pretty intense on a system. That game looks really good even on low settings which I think doesn't make sense. If you are going for low settings, you don't want your game to look good, you want your game to run well and I wish more developers would think about it this way. Battlefield 2042 is the same way.

Jay please stop ignoring the Nvidia driver overhead. The CPU definitely needed upgraded either way but saying it is mainly due to new games using more cores is just a lie. Halo barely even hits my 5600x while using my Vega 64. It is because I end up with way more CPU headroom since the Nvidia GPU relies on software scheduling taking up CPU cores while AMD GPU's can do software and hardware scheduling at the same time.

The GPU will be pegged at 100% if your settings are too high and has nothing to do with optimization. It means the game could use more GPU power if any was available (and you can't tell how badly you are limited, and it's quite easy to make crap that will pin the GPU core usage to 100% while doing nothing useful. You don't understand resource usage or optimization.

I had the exact setup built in 2017. Upgraded the 1080 to 2080 in 2019. The 7700k was really holding the 2080 back in some titles. In warzone I was getting 70-80 fps and the infamous downtown would see it dropped to 50-60 fps. Just upgraded to Ryzen 5000 series and it is now stable to 120fps (fps limited) even at downtown area. Other titles don't see this drastic improvement, but the min fps is way better and no longer see sudden frame drops here and there.
