@jack_5344 Hey man, that's dope as fuck If your starting with modding controllers I suggest you join one of my good friends discord servers. He has a KZbin channel with a good amount of subs, his name is marius heier, and a lot of the people in the modding channel on his server can definitely give you some tips and insight. And even some actual things like custom sticks, shells, etc. From connecting. Obviously, a lot goes into it and getting more newcomers can definitely help with making certain components or mods for the people.

I cringe whenever I see soldering projects done on a mouse pad or on a wooden table. You can get a decent soldering mat instead. I know it is a cheap Ben Q mouse pad or wooden table but it is not the right material when dealing with hot material. Fire hazard. Why not use Gullikit TMR Hall Effect? Once and for all not opening the dualshock controller FOREVER!!! I did mine and it was a pain desoldering all the 14 pins x2 using semi automatic desoldering pump putting in Gullikit TMR Hall Effect joystick but I told myself it will done this once only. Kudos on the video.

@kklum6998 I'm not even gonna argue against this. Soldering on a wooden table is 1000% dumb as hell. But fuck it if I die, I die 😂 And as for gullikit hall effects, I'm yet to try it. Someone in my previous video actually commented on them, but I'll have to test them out. The reason I don't use hall effects is because when I first tried the trash aliexpress ones out "GINFAQS" (year ago), they were extremely inconsistent in-game and had very low life expectancy regarding the L3s and R3s. And well now.. I've heard and seen from some of my friends that a lot of them are improving. But then again, alot of the people I've talked with and seen that are experts on the subject of hall effects in Marius's server. Have said that the gullikit actually corrodes over time for some odd reason, which obviously..y'know. But I'll have to do my own research and experimenation on the matter soon. Thanks for watching ✌️ And for the desoldering of sticks...I've done it so many times I can barely count. Another session is just practice to me. I'm always trying to get better at it.

I get a lot of these controllers. They have cut traces or burnt pads, they're even patched because they tried to repair their mistakes. if you watcher are attemtping to do this by yourself go watch a proper tutorial to use the heat gun, not this one. And of course use TMR or Hall effect joysticks so you don't have to do this again in a few months.

@@SeiferZD well, yeah this isn't a hot air station tutorial. It's a joystick replacement and calibration tutorial. I get a bunch of controllers and practice(mainly Playstation and Scufs) and work on them, whether it be IC chips, USB-C ports, battery terminals etc. Though i will say the way i used the hot air station in this video was cringe. I was coming back from a long hiatus. And as for hall effects, don't use TMRs, FYI if you're worried about opening your controller while using TMRs in the next coming months. All I'll say it won't be from drift. If you know, you know. Use favor union hall effects. I'm planning on making a video about them too, as i believe they are the definitive hall effects, and the sticks i'd waited for all this time from transitioning from pots to magnets. edit: watching this back after a year later with way more experience... yeah this is awful, I did a bunch of terrible things, both soldering and rework. Like maan... this is horrid💀

What soldering gun/station do you use?
@zeroxiiimk24 ай бұрын
@hylo7 weller we1010 now. But in the video it's the Schneider 50w station.

Why not using Hall Effect ones for example Ginfull-s? Replacing shit ones with another shitty ones is pointless.
@zeroxiiimk222 сағат бұрын
@@fatpanda1597 you clearly don't understand that ginfulls are the worst joysticks from pots, TMRs, and hall effects. I'll be making a video on the 2 best hall effects i believe are the best, soon (K-silvers and favor union). It is common knowledge that ginfulls are the "shit ones". They have terrible latency, click issues, circularity, and a bunch more issues i could list..
