I think that they looked too cartoonish until season 7. In the 10th season we definetely see the process of "upgrading" step by step... I mean, we gradually see a human getting mutilated, we see the horror and not just a mechanic saw from a ps2 game.

With a Dalek, it's quick. An extermination from a mile away, you might not even see or hear the Dalek, especially if it's flying, until it screams at you. But a Cyberman has to get close to you. Close enough to clamp it's hands onto your shoulders, wrench you onto your knees and slowly electrocute you. Even when they get arm guns, they have to get really close to use them.

It’s actually so depressing. These were the prime cybermen, they were improved ever so slightly around the pandorica with their voices changing and becoming more intense and threatening. But beyond that, they’ve gradually become more unrealistic and as a result they become less scary. They’re only scary when they could potentially be real.

Cybermen are scary as they could exist if we did become too dependent on machines. But there is also some moral areas too because without technology some people would die. So if you knew the cybermen would happen and you had the choice to stop it from happening would you? Even if perhaps before they go to far the technology would better the lives of others like people who lost or were even born without limbs? Would you stop it at the cost of stopping that too? These questions are why the cybermen to me are so fascinating.

I agree, I didn't realise that until I watched Rise of the Cybermen, as I became a Sonic the Hedgehog fan many years later after this episode, and saw how they turn humans into robots, like in Sonic.😲 Extremely scary.😲 Also, kids watched this series too. 😊

I think in the debate of who would win a Dalek or Cyberaman. Sure a Dalek would exterminate one cyberaman but in 24 hours the cybermen would have upgraded and be impervious to Daleks. While Daleks think they're to perfect to ever be destroyed

That episode proves that daleks win in a fight because they already have won in a fight

Fred Hagen-Gates That is the modern cyberman, future cybermen can upgrade against practically anything, but daleks have almost never been destroyed. The only person who can seem to destroy a dalek would be the doctor, however, cybermen CAN upgrade against almost anything as seen in series 7. Though, it seems that the cybermen do have weapons that can destroy them, but one cyberman spreads to others, he would have died, but he would have broken off into cybermites and infected more people to make them cybermen then come back against the Daleks. Daleks would always win though, they could always jump through time and come back with millions of daleks and completely destroy the cybermen.

The Daleks fought in the Time War. They would just erase those cybermen from history. Besides, all they really need is their massive hacking skills to bring down the Cyberman collective. Also, future humanity beat the future cybermen and they can't instantly upgrade themselves the way the cybermen can.

I've tried for such a long time to find that soundtrack that plays when The Doctor and Rose open up The Void and they're hanging onto the handles while the cybermen and daleks fly past them. Only now have I accidentally found it at 3:01
