Joanne this might of been aimed at beginners but it was a good refresher for us that only foil every now again. Thanks for putting in your time into doing this, a lot of people don't explain and hurry through, it's always a pleasure to watch your very informative videos.

Please can you confirm that I do not have to just use couture creations foils.. I was given a stack of Crafts & Co hot foils and they do not seem to take . I do not want to wast them. Thank you
@AnotherJoUK4 жыл бұрын
Crafts and Co are Toner Reactive hot foils - not the type to use the GoPress & Foil. They are the type you use when printing images on a laser printer or photocopier and then running through a laminator or minc type machine. You can use foils other than those made by Couture Creations but they have to be for hot foil stamping, not Toner Foiling.

Love your totorial, never saw that heater used, I do have a Big Shot,
@vicki20625 жыл бұрын
Just want to add you are lucky to get range of foils of brands in UK as in Australia can really only get Couture Creations ones and same works with the stamps/dies for foiling. Love the rose die, also love the big big one, wish we could get here in Australia but imagine it would cost a small fortune to get here.

Yeah for sure and the places that have spellbinders, todo and crafters companion are super expensive... 🙁

Hi, thanks for the useful video :) Please could you give me a link to where I could purchase that 'detailing' tool that you use? Looks like it is some type of battery operated rubber?
@AnotherJoUK4 жыл бұрын
The detailing tool I use in the video is the Couture Creations Creative Detailer. If you search Amazon or ebay for "battery operated rubber" you should find something similar.

The purpose of this video is to show you how to use the GoPress & Foil. Not to sell you the hot foil stamps I've used for my demonstrations. Collection of hotfoil stamps come and go, but the techniques for using them stay the same.

Joanne Hedges Thank you for the reply. It is a good beginners tutorial and also a good refresher for those of us who only foil occasionally. I was just curious as to the large rolls of foil you used in the video. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos and replying.

Where do you order this roll of foil, please let me know, I am not to great about ordering, been house bound now for almost four months, because of the virus. I am 84, but I love crafts, just hate being house bound! Ha! My name is Elsie and Iam from Florida, USA
@AnotherJoUK4 жыл бұрын
Elsie, I am in the UK, so I'm afraid I can't help you with where to buy foil.
@BeatlesFanSonia3 жыл бұрын
I went to buy some hot foil dies but I couldn’t believe how expensive they were! One can get a couple of them and spend more than the machine itself!
@AnotherJoUK3 жыл бұрын
I can really only advise on where to buy in the UK. Branded foil stamps are generally priced similarly to branded cutting dies. In the UK Hixxysoft and Craft Stash are good places to buy, and sometime there are "used" items on ebay.
@TheKaydie4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for answering my question my . You said from time to time you find the large rolls of foil. How does a person find these rolls and how do you know your buying the correct foil. On Amazon it says hot foil paper. What is the difference? Hope to see more videos with more difficult issues. Thank you
@AnotherJoUK4 жыл бұрын
If your not sure about the different types of foil it's best to stick to using Couture Creations foils or those that the seller specifically states are compatible or suitable for use with the GoPress & Foil.
@EliseGeiman Жыл бұрын
Will this work with the Anna Griffin Empress?
@AnotherJoUK Жыл бұрын
No - the mouth of the die cutting machine is not deep enough for the GoPress & Foil to fit into it. You need a die cutting machine that can take steel rule dies such as the Big Shot/Big Shot Plus, Spellbinders Platinum or Couture Creations GoPower & Emboss
@EliseGeiman Жыл бұрын
@@AnotherJoUK Thank you. I am glad I asked, because it looked like I couldn't. I wish I would have purchased the Big shot plus instead. Someone that is doing crafts said to get the Empress. I will have to look into the Couture Creations GoPower & Emboss or purchase the big Shot Plus.

@AnotherJoUK5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure - you'd need to contact Couture Creations. But as even pressure across the roller is essential, using an "old" die cutting machine may not give good results.

Can’t I use my die cutting machine?
@AnotherJoUK5 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I don't understand the question. For hot foiling you need a hot foiling platform such as the GoPress and Foil, Spellbinders Glimmer or Gemini FoilPress. The foiling platform supplies the heat and a die cutting machine supplies the pressure needed. This is different to Toner reactive foiling.

Love the video, however, one thing I noticed, you didn't say "pretty side down" until after 42 minutes had passed. That was way too long wait for a video aimed at beginners. That was actually the information I was looking for. I decided to stick with the video for all the other information you shared, since I am really new to foiling.
