1984 I was the range officer for the NRA with indoor range in New Orleans. I had the opportunity to work with and shoot the Anschutz air rifles back then. Awesome and very accurate!

I had the honor and pleasure of shooting an Anschutz while on my college rifle team back in the late 1960's. It had the capability of shooting a single hole for a 10 shot course. Wished to heck I was up to the task of doing my part in all three positions. I could handle prone but kneeling and off hand were my nemesis. Always dropped a few points at each position. Great memory just got re-activated, thanks.
@fls3602 жыл бұрын
Yeah, those were the days I must add. Shot many 3 position matches in my time also. Love taking the Annie, BSA, Kimber and other peep guns I have and heading to the range. My old eyes aren't as sharp as they once was but Brent at Creedmore set me up with a nice diopter to sharpen my eyes. Even bigger kick is the expression on the faces of those never used them and I let them try. Even the scoped guys get a kick out of me grouping sub moa at 50 yards and winding up 1 inch spinners at 100 with iron. Just love the classics.

many many many moons ago - I used to shoot an Anschütz in 10m AirRifle on our high school JROTC rifle team (prone, kneeling, and standing). Amazing piece of kit! Oh how I wish I had that rifle back.

Here in Germany in my Biathlon Club, WE use airrifles from Steyr which are based on the original based on the Anschütz' Biathlon rifle and was first build by them. Very accurate, even If the rifle is 10yrs old and older and had thousands of shots trough it

Hi Gavin, I just saw your visit Anschutz Distribution Center, you were shooting same rifle I got last fall for my 70th birthday gift from my wife. The model is a 2013. It has 4 action screws into 3 sided square action. It also has 6 nut and bolt tighteners where the barrel joins the action. As I have said I am a senior with a great gun and even better wife. I have great glass on the gun and mostly I shoot 50yds. I have had a .010, .089 and a .003. Thankfully I had other gents at the range with me to witness and measure with me. Playing golf alone and getting hole in one would be like being at the range alone and getting a great 5 shot group. Get an Anschutz, ( it shoots all quality ammo well) bring a Pal, or get those cameras rolling and make some personal history. You should do a video as 22lr is on fire at the ranges these days, and no "Happy Reloading". Cheers from Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada Dave C.

Have been shooting Anschutz since 1971. It’s the ultimate in rimfire accuracy and competition. Once you try one, you’ll start saving your pennies to get your very own Anschutz. Action like a bank vault. Trigger like a feather. Puts bullet after bullet through the same hole.

I bought my first Anschutz today. It’s been a long time coming and I have wanted one since I was kid. It’s an Exemplar model pistol. Can’t ever blame the gun for poor accuracy from this point forward.

Epic company that doesn't seem to want to keep selling rifles or actually be competitive in the market anymore. The bolt action pistols are no more. The 54-18 is special edition and discontinued, threaded barrel on only the hunter models, are they still press fitting most barrels? Great video and an epic company with history.

My .22lr hunter is an Anschutz and it’s frankly far more accurate than I’ll ever need it to be. I can come middle of the pack off a sand bag on a 200m fly shoot with it. My bench rest .22lr 64mpr is better again and frankly as a average shot feels like I’m cheating.

Get a CZ instead. 20% the cost, unreal out of box accuracy. If you have $$$ to burn, sure get the Anshutz. Fantastic competition rifles no doubt.
@Russell-13 жыл бұрын
Beachgunner - you’ll save even more by not buying any rifle at all. It’s not a case of having money to burn, if you want to shoot in rimfire competition at anything like a competitive level you don’t by a CZ. The CZ rifles are excellent but are still a world apart from top or even mid level rimfire target rifles (from several makers - not just Anschutz).

Most of us aren't good enough to really ring the accuracy out of an Aschutz but most of us aren't trying to get on an Olympic podium. For people who aren't like most of us, blowing past the point of diminishing returns is not an issue at all. If you really want your head to spin, check out the prices of Grunig + Elmiger or Bleiker rifles. They compete with Anschutz for that market. I got my son an Anschutz 1907 at age 12 because that was basically the minimum buy-in for Olympic-style shooting. Anything less and he wouldn't have stood a chance in competition. Other parents spent even more. Waaaay more. Crazy.

Austin presents himself like he's the weekend clean up man. Very poor presence representing a top tier german manufacturer. Anschutz is to rifles as Mercedes-Benz and BMW to cars. Take your hands out of your pockets and present the product and facility with enthusiasm and professionalism. I'm retired after 47 years with M-B & BMW. I would have a client report me to the Owner and have me fired if I behaved like that. If I were from the German home office that shop would be restaffed asap. Sorry for the rant but your channel is quality and precision presentations. That shop was not.
@Russell-13 жыл бұрын
They are no doubt very capable people but the camo jacket & baseball cap ‘look’ isn’t what I associate with Anschutz (a company who’s products I’ve used competitively for years). Someone may say that it’s only the quality of the rifle which matters (ultimately that’s true) but good presentation is an indication of pride in being associated with a premier product/company. The workforce at Anschutz in Germany display that pride far better.
