My prediction: The celebrity part will be so difficult to watch. These people rightly don't know a thing about this game and also most likely don't even remember their character names it was so long ago. It'll be cringe to have celebrities there and no launch date. 2025 is gonna be a rough year if SQ42 doesn't launch next year.

I think you're wrong on the 4.0 rushing Mike. The tests have all been 3.22 - 3.24. it's the first test on the new code base so they kept it at 100, and kept it simple by excluding new tech and features. It sounded like it was very similar code base as the original pyro test. To me it sounds like a few good decisions, but not a marketing thing. The Twitter post was probably marketing after the fact imo. Maybe I'm just a shill.

Physical cargo, the map, master modes, engineering, server meshing, ect ect. The guy absolutely must be playing the character at this point. But it’s getting old. Fast. Mike is one of my favorite streamers because he has a balanced look at the project, but the constant negativity to pander to haters and nay sayers has led me to to pause most of his videos somewhere around the 6th “just make the game” like it’s going to magically appear out of no where.

Im still wondering about that line from last year about SQ42 being "feature complete", how can ot be whe so many systems aren't even in yet or finalised, like Maelstrom or Master Modes, or even a proper inventory system? Or are they just not ported over to SC yet? And of so, why not?

They already demonstrated Maelstrom last year. That wasn't spoofed. Remember it's not necessarily enough to simply engineer a feature. It usually also has to be applied. SC has A LOT more ships than SQ42 does and no network requirements for its version of the feature to work. That's why MM was in SQ42 many months before it hit SC in any form.

Castra? Just two planets, one landing zone (Sherman) with jump points to Nyx and Pyro. Also, it’s a stretch but you could argue that the UEE’s history in the system could be a good use of some Squadron assets even though Castra doesn’t play a part in Squadron.

They don't have to build the entirety of Terra for it to be in the panel. Prime was already in development a long time ago. The last vertical slice of what SC is going to be was the "Imagine Star Citizen" video.

Having been playing a lot of Fallout 76, something that just occurred to me is how they are going to handle base overlap. What happens when people who have built in the same spot load into the same server? And how is all of it even going to interact with persistence? I wonder if they've even thought about it.

If a land claim is placed on a spot you most likely won't be able to purchase the same land as someone else

@@hawk2086 Sure, but does that carry over across all servers? Eventually they will want to put the land claim blocks inside of the game, and if the data is shared across all servers, there will be a situation where you come across a perfectly empty ground on EU servers because someone on the US server has claimed that spot. I doubt people are going to be happy about that. Alternatively, they can have the data not be shared, which would be fine until the EU player is merged into the US server. 76 gets around this by not placing down the base of the person who joins second and giving them the option to pack up their base and moves it, but I'm betting CIG isn't going to want that sort of system because everything has to be ultra realistic. It's another thing that is a very obvious problem and that CIG would have to make concessions on, but I don't see them even thinking that's a problem yet.

For brave new worlds, they better now show us only earthlike biomes. if they show us palm trees and normal style vegetation i would be super desapointed. Celebrity from Citizencon past is Jax McCleary in a setting he has no business being in...fashion. Writers are no good, it isn't funny. The Top Gear joke died with Top Gear a decade ago. All you org guys see "more than party" and think Org when ya'll dont want to admit they just talking about events like Siege of Orison. RIP your hearts. Systems are Nyx, Castra, and Terra which makes 5 with Pyro and Stanton. Odin after SQ42. Then Magnus - Ellis after 1.0 with like a 1.2 goal for racing big update. Maybe Hadrian before Magnus to make the loop around Pyro complete. Magnus is unlikely because they'll time it with a Drake year which isn't gunna be on the docket for at least a year and a half given the leftover RSI lineup unless they abandon it after Polaris. Galaxy and Perseus and Arrastra will take up a year and a half minimum probably 2. Magnus will get kicked till Drake is ready to drop with the system with like the Kraken and Ironclad at least. Im expecting Nyx as the main entree with some peaks at Castra with some lore and then a last minute sneak at Terra Prime. Terra will be like ArcCorp where we get some shit version of it first with like 1 LZ on Prime as the capital and just empty green planet otherwise as they drip the rest in 1.1 with some like Science gameplay to go with it with Odin. Nyx will be like 2 quarters after 4.0. Castra soon after unless they beef up the system lore to have more going on. Terra they definitely want for 1.0 as the setpiece system. Ya'll delusional.
