I really wish you could collab with Terra Moons - where you create two 9 pan palettes - hopefully in cardboard packaging (one for spring/summer, and one for fall/winter). Then the option for light to medium, and a second option for deeper skintones. Not a completely different palette but key mattes / shadows that are deeper in saturation. I would buy both - I trust your opinion and agree with your feedback on formulas. You wouldn't include glitters or mattes with glitter lol Have a great rest of the week, everyone ♡♡♡

You should never feel bad for getting product early or faster then people. Whether free or paid for. You get a tidbit of ad money, a few patron subs and free pr. That's all - for doing videos multiple times a week. You should be compensated for your time and worth - even if it's something as simple as a shorter shipping time. Don't ever feel bad.

I really trust your indie makeup recommendations because you do a really good job showing how the products perform in real life, so even if there's a product you say you really like, you also show how it performs without any deception or filters or extra help from any other products. This allows me to see if it would work for my personal preferences, too, or not. For example, I discovered both Clionadh Cosmetics, Terra Moons Cosmetics, and Sydney Grace Cosmetics from you, and I LOOOOOVEEEEE THEM!!!! And even on the other end of that recommendation spectrum, that eyeshadow palette video you just did yesterday, the one with the neon colors, you said you like it a lot and that it performed well for you, but even though I really liked how you put the look together, I could see this palette wasn't for me and knew not to purchase it - because you're so honest and transparent, I could see from the arm swatches that this palette's shimmers weren't in line with MY personal preferences, because I only go for super blinding metallic-ness/sparkliness in my shimmer shadows, and to me, the shimmers in that palette were more satiny. Again, because you showed how they performed in real life without any deception, I was able to make that determination for myself. So please know that your honesty, effort, and due diligence is highly appreciated. You're doing right by your subscribers, dude. (Sorry, I call everyone "dude," it's the NorCal in me, I can't help it, haha).

I've always felt like your pretty cautious about the way you speak about smaller brands. A collab I’d really like to see is one with multiple youtubers of different skin tones. For example - an Ofra collab with you, Karen Harris, and say Nyma Tang (I don’t think I watch any people with deeper skin tones in your specific KZbin friend circle) where you release 3 highlighters of the same set color but in three shades - or a set of small palettes like when Huda did three nude palettes - where you work together and then have one “Amy”, one “Karen”, and one “Nyma”. Maybe a duo collab with Kelsee Brianna Jay and the girl who did Tiny Marvels (sorry I can’t check correct spelling and her name without losing my comment), or Audra and Emily Hanhan with a deeper skin person or someone in the middle - or Michelle Wang and VikeeJeah with a pale or deeper skin person - something that spans different skin tones in one collab collection. I think we should only boycott or forgive an indie brand if we personally feel that is what we need to do, and not do it just because of public pressure or to go along with the crowd. I don’t like the idea of shaming people for not boycotting a brand because that’s their personal decision to make of what brands to support. I don’t think we owe any brand forgiveness because a brand is a company, not a person, not a friend who we owe anything towards.

On the subject of one place to buy from a bunch of indie brands, indie nail polish has stores like Polish Pickup, Hella Handmade Creations, and Polished Gamers Box that have a bunch of brands create a limited edition product once a month or every couple months and sell them as a pre-order. They usually have themes the brands use for inspiration and the shipping is very affordable. Maybe one time limited edition is a little extreme for makeup, but maybe something in that vein will be the beginning of having an online indie store where you pay one shipping fee. Even if its a quarterly type thing, I can see some brands getting together to do that without stepping on each other’s toes.

2nd comment here, don't judge me, haha. I think a cool video idea would be "Products I've Changed My Mind About Over Time." And you could discuss both products you used to like initially that you don't like anymore, and products you didn't like before that you do like now. I had the latter happen to me most notably with the eyeshadows from Lethal Cosmetics, for example: I bought 2 palettes from them and was super excited to receive them because Theresa from Theresa Is Dead always raves about them, but when I got them and used them the first 3 times, I HATED THEM SO MUCH, OMG. They blended horribly, were patchy, lacked pigment, and whenever I tried to layer them on top of each other, they turned into the ugliest shade I'd ever seen, some swamp-witch color (and not in a good way, cuz I typically love swampy type colors, but this was just awful). But then, a year later, I tried them again (a few months ago), and this time, I LOVED THEM WITH ALL MY HEART. They blended effortlessly, were easily buildable and definitely pigmented enough, layered on top of one another well, etc. So now, I can't figure out why they performed so poorly for me those first 3 times when I used them initially a year ago, and why now they perform like magic. It doesn't make any logical sense. My skills haven't improved, my makeup brushes are the same, my technique is the same... I don't get it. But they work beautifully for me now. 🤷♀️

I'm appreciate Cliondah, they update you by email and on instagram. Their shadows are 100% worth the wait in my opinion. Shroud x Beautbean was a mess but I'm happy with my palette and was worth the wait for me. The owner's decision to do the unlimited preorder was impulsive, huge lack of forecasting skills, updates only on instagram, and processing estimate at time of ordering was low balled severely. She's one person and under pressure, so I understand on a human level, I just hope there's better planning in the future.

The weekly updates from Cliondah are really a perfect example of how I want to hear about updates, and what I want updated. I finally got my Beautbean palette twoish weeks ago and I haven't even swatched it. I was so put off by Shroud's handling of the situation. They weren't responding to IG comments or DMs or regular emails for months. Then they finally hired someone and started doing updates. I was also upset because it was my first indie purchase and I was truly excited to see the difference between hand pressed shadows and machine pressed shadows. She then switched it and made the palettes machine pressed. That isn't what I ordered and I feel ethically and possibly legally it's a little murky to switch out like that without the purchaser's consent. Shroud also said after almost 5 months of people not getting their palettes, that you could cancel and get a refund by email. Not true. I emailed 4 times for a refund and no response. I still love Beautbean, but the experience made me hesitant to ever purchase from an indie brand again. I decided to test fate and got the Angie x Kaliedos palette from round 1 and it shipped on the day it said it would and there were no issues. I'm still leary of indie brands but I think I'll just never purchase from Shroud ever again.

I have been buying almost exclusively indie for the last three years, and I have only ever had ONE brand send me an email update about shipping delays. And that was after a massive public backlash over the lack of communication plus the revelation that orders were not being filled chronologically. And it only happened for like a couple of months before the volunteer customer service agents she brought on for those emails quit without explanation. (There was also a backlash to the emails - the owner pulled everyone's email addresses from their etsy orders, and some people were pissed that she had their email address and was using it to speak to them directly.) If you get lucky, an indie brand will have a dedicated and frequently updated page on their website where they post information about any potential delays, order numbers that have been pulled for fulfillment, and changes to TAT. Usually you get a TAT banner at the top of the page or in an FAQ and then you have to hunt their social media down, or even worse, join a private facebook group for information. I'm just thinking a lot about shipping delays recently due to several brand meltdowns I've witnessed recently. An indie brand that people thought was well established and a darling of the community, still has people waiting for their orders 15 months later, stopped responding to email, and started "accidentally" banning people from their private facebook group asking about their orders. Situations like this don't happen often but they're really messy when they do. :s

And then on the packaging of ALL shadows it said that they may contain carmine 🙃 the other ingredients didn't match as well. The brand said that the true inci is on their website not on the packaging... I mean... Print some more packaging?! Like I'm actually allergic, this rubbed the wrong way for sure.
