Hi there! I'm doing a bit of research on LAFS and weighing my options. I noticed in your previous video that you didn't get a camera, sound recording and lighting equipment.. Do you buy these yourself?

Hi, so I received a Sony A7III and tripod a few months after starting, but we do have to return them not sure when yet. In the first few months of me starting at the film school, a teacher told us that we should receive a lighting kit, but I've been with the school for 10 months now and still haven't received a lighting kit, so I'm not when or if we do get a lighting kit. They never said anything about a sound recording kit though, I am in the film production program and not the audio program so I'm not sure if I would receive a sound kit.

What are your typical class schedules like? Like is it monday through friday from 7am to 3pm? Lol

Hi I just recommend saving as much as possible. The way I did it was I took out a student loan and I’m on a payment plan of paying it back. I got a job and just working hard to have multiple streams of income. Everyone does things differently but that’s the way I did it. Also with housing the school has a housing department that can help you. Also Facebook has a Los Angeles roommate housing group that you can go on and use to connect with people who is moving to LA and you can get to know them before actually meeting them in person.

I have a question. Have they said anything about you going to the actual campus or are you strictly online now?

The campus has been open since April now, but it's not fully open its hybrid. So some days the class could be on campus and some days it's on zoom. Even the days the campus is open and students can't make it because they are not in LA its fine, the teacher creates an alternative assignment for those students.

@@mariahwelch5968 I was told I can transfer to campus between semesters… if that’s how it is. I’m gonna wait till I’m halfway done with my studies then transfer for more hands on aspect… how do you like it though? Do you feel like it’s pushing you to be ready for a job in film when you are done?

Yeah definitely, the teachers are super knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely feel like its pushing me to be ready.
