Great video. Specific details on what to do and the rationale behind it. I really like the mental image of lobbing over your partner to drop. I used to struggle with drops until I visualised it as a long dink. But this imagery of lobbing over the partner is more precise and I’m going to try it tomorrow.

the banging part like if it was doubles you are just sending them to the kitchen though. If you hit it back you can aim at the feet and they would have a real hard time hitting it back.

Why don't the pros ever use a corkscrew serve?

Pros don't use "trickery" because it's LOW PERCENTAGE!! 90% of "in" is better than 40% of "fancy"..

I have a 5 foot tall senior partner that is a natural athlete. She has a rating of 3.5. Opponents lob her frequently during a tournament match. What is the best strategy for us since she has a normal overhead.

@@cliffdurkee791 If she is in fact a tournament level player then she should be able to turn and "side step" back to the ball and play it off the bounce... a 5' player is going to get picked on in tournaments and she'll have to learn to get back (safely) on the ball.. LOBBING is a chicken Sh*** way of playing even when the opponent is "short" . Both of you are going to have to limit the balls that allow your opponent lob on you. Try more angles that they will have to simply try to get back in the court... good luck.

Your tennis grip isn't as effective on drop shots. Go Continental and come at them, "high to low".. Watch Rafa or Carlos Alcarez..
