Thanks, Sumner and Ali for answering my question. Ali said 100% but actually, instructors receive 97% of the revenue when the student purchases their content using an instructor’s coupon or referral link. Anyway, I liked Sumner's explanation that it's not about percentages but about what you get for your time and energy. It's still more profitable than other types of online businesses. Thanks again for the clarification.

It depends on your goals but yes, Pinterest can still be a great marketing platform for ecommerce and blog content specifically.

Realistically, if I am not willing to show my face or speak on mic and I also am not an expert in anything. Can I create a better course than other people who are experts, showing their face and speaking on the mic by using AI? Would people actually purchase a course that has no person behind it?

Hey! I saw you actually reply to comments, so I figured I might as well ask. I'm a best-selling Udemy instructor, but I'm not making enough to do this full time (yet). Anyway, my question is, how did you spend so little time to make so many courses (10 hours a week)? I'm working probably 2 months full time per course before launching it, and that's just for 2-3 hour courses. I'm really happy about your success and I'd love to hear out your thoughts
@sumnerandaliАй бұрын
Hey Uri! To answer your question - yes, most effort is upfront with fairly little effort ongoing. We track all of our hours with Toggle so we know that it takes us an average of 48 hours of effort to produce one course (some more, some less). At 10 hours per week this is a little over 1 month to produce a course. This includes: • topic & competitor research • course outline • presentation prep • recording • editing • copywriting (title, bullets, description, emails, etc) • pricing strategy After that it's fairly passive just replying to messages and occasionally updating content which averages us less than 6 hours per week combined for a total of 15 courses. It does depend on the content and how many times you re-record certain lectures but we can knock out an entire course worth of content in 1-2 weeks usually. We also have certain hacks where we take the same course and re-list with different title & keywords to rank. We might slightly modify this course but it will be 90%+ similarity. We also took one of our massive courses (5-in-1 Amazon FBA course) that was 21 hours long and broke it into 5 individual courses. Lastly, when you have enough courses or partner with other instructors you can bundle your own courses into one massive course. This is a huge key because you want to maximize your profit per hour. All about working smarter not harder. If you really want to take your Udemy course sales to the next level and find opportunities you'd never think on your own check out our brand-new Freedom Falcon Academy program: www.freedomfalconacademy.com/pricing 100% risk-free. If you don't find the content extremely valuable you get your full money back in 30 days. Hope this helps!

I appreciate the detailed answer! Even with all of that, I'm still surprised it takes you 48 hours to create a course. That's extremely efficient of you guys. Congrats. I think it takes me around 200h. It's an interesting point about repurposing existing content into new courses. I did that a bit so I asked Udemy about their policy and they told me while it's ok to use some of the same lectures in new courses, at least 50% of the course needs to be original. So I don't know if bundling smaller courses into a big one or breaking a big one into lots of smaller ones would be legit without of a lot of extra work

as a new udemy instructor , what price we should set , if our course is related to youtube? and 4 hour course
@sumnerandaliАй бұрын
Hi Shahtaj! A good general rule is to set the highest maximum price as Udemy controls pricing. The higher your course price = higher perceived value. A $200 course that you can get for $20 is more valuable than a $50 course you can buy for $20 if that makes sense?
@msifwdnАй бұрын
But, I'm confused, like how? As a new instructor, what price I should set, also I put 2 courses and I've not seen any progress, it's been two weeks, no any enrollments, I'm quite stressed

I made a course teaching a microsoft certification, I removed it because I just got embarrsed (i actually got 2 sales). How do I promote it?
@sumnerandaliАй бұрын
Hey there and thank you for your honesty. I'm sorry to hear about that. First step - make sure your course is superior. Analyze the 1-4 star reviews of top courses in your space. What do people hate and love about these courses? Does your course meet and exceed these desires and challenges? If not - improve the course first. If so: 1. Make sure in your title, subtitle, and bullets you call out specifically what makes your course unique from all other options. It could be multiple things like being more up-to-date, advanced strategies, etc. 2. Make sure you include top 5 benefits and top 5 features in your bullet points 3. Make sure you Udemy thumbnail pops in comparison to your top competitiors Once your course is solid and students can easily see that your course is superior from your copy and images follow the steps outlined in the launch questions of this video to get your first students, reviews and begin ranking and making organic paid sales.
