Thank you for this video series! Quick question, I’ve seen popular Udemy instructors list themselves as instructors and their company as co-instructor. Is this something you’d recommend? What are the pros and cons? Thank you for your time! I look forward to your reply.
@sumnerandali16 күн бұрын
Hi Nicola! Yes, this is a great idea. Udemy instructor profiles are free to create and you can create two separate profiles. The benefit is that if one account is compromised for whatever reason you still have the second account. It also adds a level of professionality.

Thanks for this series! Question: I understand that you guys have 15 courses, but how many courses are you saying it would potentially take to try to reach $4k/mon within a year. One course or many? I'm unclear on this. Ps. I first found you guys when I purchased the iPhone photography course - enjoyed it - 5 stars!
@sumnerandali9 күн бұрын
Hey! So glad you found us and that you enjoyed the iPhone photography course :) Thank you so much for the feedback! So first, yes, we do have 15 course BUT we actually have *8 unique courses* - the other 7 are either a bundle of our unique courses together or a "deep dive" into a section of one of our unique courses if that makes sense (which is one of the strategies we share within the Academy). www.freedomfalconacademy.com/pricing Second, to answer your question, this would be 4-5 courses. In this video below (around 31:29) we show you the exactly breakdown. Again, the 11 months is assuming you put in about 10h of work/week based on our calculations. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpW1gIerZtJ9oM0si=yG_mBEnKd3wxvNUl&t=1889 Keep in mind for certain courses you can earn WAY more in affiliate income than whatever Udemy pays you. Also keep in mind if you "copy & paste" your Udemy course to Skillshare you can earn 10% - 20% additional profit with about 2 hours of effort. Hope this helps :)

Hi, are you launching a new course about Udemy on the Udemy platform?
@sumnerandali16 күн бұрын
Yes, we plan to launch a new course in the next few months. This is the most recent course we launched: www.udemy.com/course/chatgpt-copywriting-secrets/?referralCode=6E1A9456F16EB047BF77

This series is GOLD! I uploaded courses a few years ago to both Udemy and Skillshare, but found Udemy's sound requirements for videos hard to pass. Has that changed? Do you use a certain microphone to record your videos for Udemy? Thanks so much for your content!

Awesome to hear Kristie! Yes, good quality audio is important and easy. We use the Yeti Nano Blue mic: amzn.to/3DIlFUd

Can you show us how you actually build the courses themselves? Do you use a course creation platform or is it as simple as a set of snazzy PowerPoint slides?
@sumnerandali16 күн бұрын
Yes, we will be posting a video on this next week. What we do is use QuickTime player on our mac to record our face & voice with a yeti nano for mic. For the presentation there are great free pre-built google slides, powerpoint and keynote templates we use as a base and then screen record everything together. I've seen other successful instructors not even show face and just have presentation with their voice so mic recording + screen record of presentation slides. If you're content is more tutorial base like step 1 go here step 2 click on this, etc. then you don't even need a presentation for most/all of the course.

On the Udemy Instructor Revenue Share webpage, it has been mentioned that instructors receive 37% of the revenue for any Udemy sales where no instructor coupon or course referral link was used but you mentioned that 5:39 "anytime you make a sale Udemy keeps 50% and you keep 50%". Could you please clarify it?
@sumnerandali16 күн бұрын
Great question and yes, that was a misspeak. Instructors receive 37% of revenue for non-instructor coupon sales.
@Shubham7C16 күн бұрын
@@sumnerandali Has it been always 37% or recently Udemy has reduced it to 37% for Instructors? Please include my question in your Q & A video.

How do I actually promote my course??
@sumnerandali16 күн бұрын
Create a free coupon where 1k - 3k people who redeem get free access. Publish this in "free Udemy" Facebook groups. You'll get 1k - 3k students who will leave 5-star reviews. Udemy will see this and organically rank your course higher and within 2 weeks you'll generally start seeing fully paid sales. So $0 ad spend and zero marketing knowledge needed. This is not possible with any other platform we've seen.

Can you put a course that is already sold on Udemy on a platform like for example teacheable and do the marketing by yourself? Have you thought about doing so?
@sumnerandali8 күн бұрын
Hi Monika! If we understand correctly you mean to list a course on Udemy then drive your own traffic. While you can do this we don't see a huge benefit as with Udemy we want to tap in to their existing audience vs. driving our own. If we have our own audience a platform like Kajabi, Clickfunnels or Teachable make more sense because you can better collect student data, control pricing, etc.
