Probably Ranger, In games with such set ups I like being able to swap methods depending on the situation. I am cautiously optimistic about this game. But it is rare for me to not be able to enjoy a game like this.

Thats the beauty of how bioware is handling this. Its not the typical "heres some fancy trailers so go preorder now". They are showing tons of live stream gameplay, tons of ama and a bunch of opportunities to test it out first. Everything they are doing show a lvl of confidence and honest transparency that we habe been missing in the industry. but cautious curiosity is smart.

J T I miss the days when you would see a trailer/commercial for a game that was coming out a month before it released. And the game just released and you played it. And that was the end of it. Being cautious with this one. We live in the day of “release now, fix later.” The only thing that scares me and eases me at the same time was the shitty release of mass effect andromeda. It was a shit show.m, but word on the street is that they pulled a lot of the people from that project to worn on anthem in the middle of its development. So it was a bad thing for mass effect, but a good thing for anthem.

I'll probably main a Colossus but I will collect the whole set. The beauty of this game is that you don't log on with a different "class" alternate, you simply pick which suit you'll be heading out into the wilds with today. Maybe later I'll come back and jump into my Interceptor for some quick scouting then come back again with a Ranger to complete some tasks and finish the day in my Colossus again. I'm really loving this approach!!

I can understand the frustration that alot of developers have. They spend blood, sweat and tears creating a game like this and people try and trash it before it’s out and before they play it. Sure, EA has made huge mistakes but just like people, they may be better for it. In my opinion, Bioware has created some of the most amazing stories within video games. Stories I feel connected to. I remembered thinking, after I finished the MASS EFFECT series, that they should make them into movies. I’ve never thought that playing any other games. All evidence points to Bioware using their full resources to make this as great as possible. I for one can’t wait;)

I don't exactly *trust* EA, but they've made all the right promises about Anthem and the evidence points to it being more of a PR problem than a profitable venture if they screw it up at this point. So I can see fairly good reason - in spite of concerns about the company - to take this one at face value and hope for the best. I'm tight enough on money right now that I probably won't be pre-ordering or even a day-one player, but I expect not to be waiting too long to pick it up, assuming the game doesn't turn out to have been advertised entirely using pre-rendered instead of in-engine footage with everything we know about it turning out to have been lies.

I unfairly judge this game because to me this isnt bioware and this game is the reason dragon age 4 has been pushed back. However, all these little gameplay vids we are getting is making me more interested in anthem than I ever thought I would be. I'm probably going to play this game now, I'll wait for week 1 reviews before I fully decide, but thats better than blindly hating it I suppose.

@Conrrado Torres well you just described anthem not destiny. Both monster hunter and anthem are single player with a coop of up to 4 players taking on adventures, bosses and the like. Destiny is a shard that is open to everyone at once. His comparison was accurate.

Colossus and Storm seem to be what I'll be going to too. Tanking is always fun and, if done right, others will always appreciate a good Tank for what he's supposed to do: taking damage so the rest of the team can deal some, even if that mens having the least kills of the whole squad in the end. And then there's the Storm and... Well... Who doesn't love feeling like an almighty demigod, raining death and destruction from above to wipe out whatever the game keeps throwing at you?

Skrazor You have a good point on both accounts. I’ll be maiming Storm, but the Colossus is probably 90% of the time going to be the most key player in most gameplay sessions. That shield, suit durability, and raw firepower are going to hold up amazingly well when you and your squad gets swarmed.

Interceptor. The hit and run play style has always suited me. But I’m probably gonna play some Colossus when I wanna turn my brain off after a hard day and face-tank everything as I mow them down. No offense to any Colossus players out there, I know all the Javelins require at least basic tactical knowledge

The Colossus and Storm are pretty much opposites. Storm is for priming the enemies for combos, and is weak defense wise. The Colossus is for putting out the high damage and he has high defense. So the ranger basically is the happy medium you are looking for.

I'm going with the Colossus. Love supporting my team while also being able to put down heavy fire. Hope they have a tiger stripe colour for the suit. Ooshhh. I will also use the ranger as my second class. I might be old fashioned but I'm not too keen on the storm or interceptor being this 'Magic' entity type suit. Give me a suit, gun and some enemies and I'm good to go. Can't wait to team up with 4 other players though!

Are you just basing on this video? Because there's quite a bit of gameplay footage out that he just didn't have I'm this video. Some abilities haven't been visually shown because they want to keep it surprising. If they handed everything to us on a silver platter it would end up being boring because there wouldn't be any surprises.

I like the ranger, being able to switch up the plan on the fly is always a good thing. The storm looks like more glass than cannon to me. Unlike other rpgs, all the classes here can do serious burst and aoe damage and can take a hit. Having seen the storm get taken out by not much, I have a feeling that it will get alot of play at start and then those players will switch to the colossus or interceptor after that shield bubble is turned into a bullseye.

Yeah, this video was before the demos. After playing them, the Storm is actually quite tough, just as long as stay in the air and are in a team. The strengths of the colossus cannot be overshadowed when paired with a storm. That being said, the Ranger is still my favorite.

I thought I'd be one of the few picking colossus since it's slow and heavy, but there's a lot of people who want to play a tank role and that's interesting to see that inclination when most prefer glass dps in these types of games. I always aggro tank so the colossus is for me, I am curious to see what we can do for it cosmetically so it doesn't have that typical blocky dumpster/toaster looks. I'd like to see some active effects or at least something that demands attention besides just being a screen hog. Anyway, I don't have many friends interested in getting this just because of bioware and EA, but I would like to run a group with some people in my age group (20s) at launch. I play xbox, so if anyone is interested reply or pm your gt so we can squad up.

What's great is we have options that will be relevant and the Javelins will play clear roles. They also will perform much differently. Destiny lacked this. There the classes and builds had minimal impact variance outside the ultimate.

I use the Bruiser set up you talked about, flamethrower and shock coil, and wow does it ever work. I only really use my gun for far flying enemies.

Colossus for when I just wanna blow everything to kingdom come, Storm for when I wanna set the world ablaze, Interceptor when I wanna be a speed melee monster and Ranger when I wanna be lazy. But for the most part I just wanna nuke everything in the game with the Colossus.

Nice vid. One of my main worries was wether or not Colossus had a "taunt" of some kind. Glad to see it does. I'm still not 100% sure I'll pick this up but its looking more & more promising the more we hear. Storm main with a Colossus on the side sounds good to me :D

There isn't a healing class, so if you want to heal mid battle you will need to take out an enemy and pick up the drop.

There are essentially 2 health bars though. Your shield replenishes out of battle, reminiscent of current shooters, and you're actual health bar that only replenishes with red drops from defeated enemies. I love this approach!

DLC Support-Javelin incoming. Since it was already stated that the story will be pushed forward with free DLCs, I can totally see them creating a Javelin who transports minibots, which can either Heal/Buff your Team, or do some DoT/Debuff against Enemies and is released later with a DLC.
