The thing I really like most about Ant's shooting, it adds to his longevity by protecting his body. He doesn't need to always make the athletic play - his shooter is a reliable threat too which means he can conserve more energy throughout the game. If he is able to make strides with his playmaking - good luck to the rest of the league.

I gotta say. I've been somewhat of an Ant hater, saying he's still no match for the Grizzlies, but if he can shoot like this throughout the season, it's too close to call, only because of the Grizzlies depth

it's a progression I think as is integrating any new skill. Right now he might be integrating things around scoring the basketball, and as time goes on and that becomes more like second nature to him, then I think he will be able to integrate more playmaking in there

He's taking more 3s to accommodate Randle, and it looks like he's just happened to hit a purple patch. If there's one thing I've learnt from watching the NBA, its that your shooting will betray you when you need it most. Hopefully Ant will keep improving his game, so that when it happens to him he'll have other options available. The sky's the limit for him. He's not even close to the finished article, and he's already the best 2 guard in the league.

It can be frustrating watching Ant play, because he doesn't utilize his athleticism to the same extent that other athletic beasts like Prime Lebron, Prime Westbrook, Prime DRose, Giannis, and etc can/do. He still gets too cute with his layups sometimes, or just simply won't blow past a slower defender because he's too focused on pulling off a cool dribble combo. Dude is so close to greatness it's maddening. But still I'm gonna be on the Ant train until the wheels fall off.

Anthony Edwards still has wasted movement sometimes. He'll pull of a great dribble combo to create space, but then he won't attack the lane, he'll hit a nice step back combo, but hesitate on pulling the shot, or he'll take one dribble to long before he fires off a pass to an open teammate. The dude is so fast and athletic, literally nobody in the NBA can keep up with him. I think sometimes ant surprises even himself with how much ground he can cover.

@JackTheStrippa

Ill keep it simple for you... the Playoffs taught him a lesson about energy/stamina... against the Nuggets he was always worn out by thr 3rd quater slashing. He needed a solution and going on a Olympic run witg 2 of the best shooters in history and all that experience.. I GUARANTEE you they gave hin the cheatcode. So he conserves his energy from 3 and slashing when he needs to. The NBA have to deal with someone that Shoots like Durant has a mid/post game like Kobie/Carmelo and can slash like Vince Carter. The guy is a defensive NIGHTMARE... and he can put the ball on the floor and cook you in an iso with setbacks and hesi's etc

Well let's pump the bakes a little. Wolves have had the 25th hardest schedule through 9 games. So far MIN has played LAL-SAC-TOR-DAL-DEN-SAS-CHO-CHI-POR. Of those, defensive ratings re: DEN is 6, DAL is 9, LAL is 12. The rest worst. But yeah, Ant clearly working on his game and watching the greats this summer. That's how you become one of them. And his 3PAs up to 11.7 from 6.7 last year. ASTs down to 3.6 from 5.1. And critically, his advanced stats are still trending up.

This is just a hot streak. Ant is not a player that can sustain 40+ 3 pnt% at 11 attempts a game. He will come back down and probably finish around 37% from three. This won't last. He also should incorporate more mid range jumpers in his game, it keeps the defense guessing because you now have a 3D attack. Eventually, defenses will pick up Ant's tendencies and step up to his threes. Ant lacks offensive IQ and playmaking for others.

He does shoot mid range at times, when needed. And when he's breaking a defender down etc
@QuestionEverything562
@QuestionEverything562 Ай бұрын
@Sammy-f7l He does, but not consistently. He really got away from his mid-range game after the Suns playoff series last season. From that point on, he just became 2D with bad long threes and exhausted drives to the rack. He was killing the Suns with his mid-range game, but then lost confidence in it against the Nuggets and Mavs. I love when he posts up and uses his turnaround fades.
