Okay, I give you an example of how powerful an actor Sir Anthony Hopkins is. I thought this was Sir Anthony at an actual AA meeting! I had no idea he was an actor delivering lines in a movie! You don't get more realistic, believable, convincing, and authentic than that. IMHO, he is better than the great Olivier, Brando, or many others. I place him in the hallowed company of comparable thespians as Peter O'Toole, Michael Caine, Dame Judy Dench, and Dame Maggie Smith. His voice is hypnotic. Bravo!

I would say that a great actor doesn't say the lines as if they were his own thoughts. He says them as if they were the own thoughts of the character. I think the problem with Hopkins is that he does what you say. They sound like lines AH actually thinks. There are some comments down below that argue whether the scene is from a movie or from an AA meeting. What creates this confusion? The fact that Antony Hopkins is often indistinguishable from the characters he plays. They become him rather than the other way around.

Met him briefly once. Gentle, unassuming with a sense of mischievous humour about him. I think he is the greatest natural actor I have ever seen. James Cagney was another. Study them both!

How powerful.. God speaking through you..thank you.. God bless you.. I as well have 3 children who will not speak to me due to severe issues in our family.. I pray every day that one of them will show up at my door for I feel that I as well have lost one if them.. I know that if I have that God has them..he promises me that ...

This hit the heart. I lost my mom at 11 from someone falling asleep at the wheel and at 13 my gpa took me aside and knew I was greatly depressed and I finally told him and he told me ( if it doesn’t kill you f it) he was right

Take all the loveable things that you adore from your closest loved ones and friends ,and I would say that is what Sir Anthony Hopkins manages to portray in his acting persona.I think my Generation (I’m 66 years young ) have been so blessed to grow old along with so many great actors, including Richard Burton Richard Harris Laurence Olivier John Gielgud Glenda Jackson Judi Dench..

God Bless you Sir Anthony Hopkins! To my beloved friend Tianna 🙏🫂 Every day including now I've been praying 🙏 tirelessly for your recovery 🙏🤧. Not a day goes by where I haven't thought about you 🫂 and my concern for your safety! I miss you and keep praying you'll see your children grow up and walk across that stage, exchange 💱 their marriage vows etc..I pray always that we'll get to talk again where you're safe and fully recovered. May the Man above continue 🙏😇 to hear my prayers 🙏 good vibes, and petitions on her behalf. Thank you Anthony Hopkins for giving me hope for the people I love most.

Because his acting is deep, intense, often profound, not for everyday but rich and meaningful, indeed educational!? Shallow, trashy has more appeal to general audiences, possibly because of escapism factor??

Great acting , but on a serious note it’s not a mystery . The difference between heaven and hell is about “18” inches . That’s the normal length between your head and your heart . It’s not a battle of the intellect it’s a battle of the will which is in the heart . Peace 🙏
