I would be surprised if it isn't Filip Hrgović, just because of the belts being on the line. The only way I don't see it happening is is Hrgović doesn't want to take the risk, but for the money that would be offered in Saudi Arabia, it will be very hard to say no.

Gotta disagree slightly. For me, Zhang is made for Joshua. A slow southpaw who will gas after about 5 rounds. The Joyce wins have just blinded some fans. It will be a repeat of the Wallin fight. Joshua will target the body early, wait a few rounds for the guard to drop, and lay into him from there. For me, Ngannou makes the most sense. If Fury beats Usyk, Joshua needs to have something he can go back with. Otherwise, it will be Fury beat the guy that Joshua couldn't beat twice. However, if he has comfortable wins over Wallin and Ngannou, he brings some ammunition to the table.

Wallin has nothing to do with Zhang style wise and he doesn't have slow hands at all. The reason Aj looked great against Wallin is the lack of fire power from Wallin, he had nothing to worry about what was coming back

I think Joshua is too quick for Zhang both in general hand speed plus his head and leg movement is too good, Joshua would fight him keeping out of range and still has the tools to hurt him until moving in when Zhang is gassed. always a risk with a big puncher but AJ hits harder, is mobile, faster and has more stamina. AJ is underrated by so many still.

Zhang doesn't make a great deal of sense for anyone apart from the man himself--too bigger risk for no real reward. Hrgovic makes complete sense (especially with a belt on the line) and would be potentially a very competitive fight. Great work as always Rummy. Love your insights sir!

I wouldn't say no reward because Zhang holds the WBO Interim title and is next in line for a title shot after Hrgovic. So Hrgovic makes most sense but the Zhang fight puts him in a good position too. Wouldn't be surprised if he fights Hrgovic in March and Zhang in the summer before a potential Riyadh fight against the Fury/Usyk winner in December 🥊

Ngannou already refused when he was offered Zhang for the day of reckoning, Ngannou needs to fight at least 2 opponents that hang around the top 15-25 like Yoka and Takam for example, they are both French so the fights will be easier to make, put Chisora in too. After he defeats those three, give him another big fight.

It has to be Hrgovic. Herg is the #1 contender and if he can beat him then AJ has a strong claim to an upcoming title shot. Same with Zhang BUT Zhang is the #2 locked-in for a title shot but it might be more difficult to make that bout. Hrgovic is an easy contract then again, Zhang is a good 'return of the Olympians' story. If Hrgovic is offering AJ a shot then AJ really might want to take that asap. Id' pick Hrgovic with a solid no-doubt 12 rd decision.

@@_sky_3123 That's the thing, if people watch Hrgovic vs Zhang it is almost uncanny the output of monster power punches back and forth. Hrgovic takes gigantic flush shots and does not appear phased by them. (vice-versa for the giant Zhang) and that fight goes at a damn powerful high-output 12 rounds by heavyweight standards! Hrgovic does not look especially tired or anything. The one way I could see AJ winning that: Hrgovic sometimes overdoes this 'disinterested' sort of unfocused moments. He takes a minute or two off. He's being too loose and lax or something. Wammo, if AJ can launch on those moments, get the jump on him, maybe he can smash for a KO.

Would fighting Joshua be beneficial to Hrgovic when he's already the IBF mandatory and most likely challenger to the winner of the Usyk-Fury fight? It seems to me like he'd have a lot to lose and little to gain from taking on AJ. My guess is that all three of these possibilities fall through and Joshua ends up fighting someone else next.

Both Zhang and Ngannou would take the fight, though, but Joshua has nothing much to win and everything to lose against Zhang, so it is unlikely to be him. However, Hearn boasted Joshua would find Ngannou "easy work" and if he and Joshua believe that, then there's the fight, because Ngannou wants to fight Joshua and if Joshua makes easy work of Ngannou, Joshua will get the bragging rights over Fury who made hard work of his fight with Ngannou, recently.

Big fan of your work Rummy, big respect for what you do every time 😎 I hope I'm wrong here but I think that March may be too early for the Hrgovic bout - too many moving parts need to click into place for it to happen with the stakes that we all want it to be. For example, when (let alone 'if') would the IBF have to strip the winner of the (possible) first Usyk-Fury bout next mid February for this fight to go down? Surely after the first fight (and the subsequent declaration of a rematch) at the earliest, and that's too close to March as it is I'm guessing. Would love to hear your (and others) thoughts on this. Hrgovic would be the best bet for Joshua as it will more than likely be for the IBF strap and I think the Croatian is overrated. I did not see anything in his last 3 fights that would lead me to believe he would beat Joshua. As for the other two fighters mentioned, Zhang is by far the most dangerous, and Ngannou I don't believe belongs in the ring with Anthony. AJ got little credit for knocking out Wallin who went 12 rounds with Fury and he will get even less credit for knocking out Ngannou who also went 12 rounds with an out of shape and unmotivated Tyson Fury.

IBF should be vacated in February if there is no rematch with Fury and Usyk. Not sure how long it will take before the IBF is up for grabs, doubt it will be March. I am guessing he will take a huge money fight against NGannou and then fight for the IBF against Hrgovic. He will not go anywhere near Zhang. If the IBF is up for grabs in March, then it needs to be Hrgovic.

I love these big cards for boxing. It really puts perspective into who is the best right now. Everyone was shitting on AJ before 'The Day Of Reckoning, but now he's considered a top heavyweight again after his impressive performance. We got to see Wilder get smacked around the ring by an actual opponent, and A now Wilder is pretty much done. We got to see Dubois show the world that weighing 330 lbs is not a good idea after his victory over Miller. We absolutely NEED more cards like this. I don't care if it's in Saudi or not. Great video, as usual. The angle of Joshua doing better than Fury against the same opponents makes a fight with Wilder make more sense, even if he lost to Parker. I think fans would also be more interested in Wilder as an oponent, compared to Ngannou.

I agree with everything you said in the video. That said, I maybe the only person in the world who would still love to see the Wilder vs AJ match-up. Parker IMO is a more displined boxer than AJ. Meaning I think Wilder has a better opportunity to land that massive right hand against AJ than he did on Parker.

To think Parker is more disciplined than AJ and to think Wilder can KO Joshua when he couldn't even knock down Parker is laughable at best. While Parker won by being smart, he did enough just to win but was it more his strategy or lack of a strategy from Wilder? If Joshua faces Wilder, it ends up being the same as Joshua versus Wallin. But we shall see if and when they meet. I still support Joshua but regardless I will give any other opponents credit should they win.

I agree, what I took from wilders last fight I think Parker is harder and more awkward to hit than AJ will be for wilders style. Parker was a lot lower, look like he could duck and weave wilders shots whereas I think AJs going to find it harder to do the same being a more suitable height for wilder plus he doesn’t have incredible head movement, is stationary at times and can be a little stiff at times, so his head will be an easier target for sure going off of that. i think Hrgovic is a good fight. A quality opponent that AJ would likely win Zhang is a similar fight. i think AJ would win but a little higher risk with ZHang's power. Francis N. could be a big bananna peel for AJ, while i hope he would win, you cant be sure, and there is no belt or mandatory position to be had. If he wins, great bragging rights, but thats it....and if he loses.......that could be a significant hit to his reputation.

If the IBO confirms to Hearn now they will order an immediate mandatory title shot following Usyk v Fury, then Hrgovic fight is a no-brainer. However if their is no clear communication, then Ngannou makes great sense as a March 9th main event for a low risk/high profile money fight for AJ. AJ can then sell out Wembley in June/July for the vacant title shot against Hrgovic and still make plenty of money. Zhang should fight Parker on co-main March 9th. I'm also interested in undercard of Fury v Usyk. I'd love to see Fabio Wardley v Jared Anderson.

TBH any 3 is good. AJ has a knack for knocking out former Fury opponents so I think he will do the same with Ngannou who is a bit of a gimmick. Can't decide if the IBF stripping titles is a good thing or not, agree it can be good control to ensure their fighters get a short, Fury for example should have been stripped of his WBC by now (not that Wilder should have been allowed to keep it) , but the undisputed is on us, give the winner the change to take their fighter next.

AJ spent years fighting his mandatory opposition and attempting to make big fights. AJ should just fight anyone he likes to keep himself active for the next year and then fight the winner of Uysk and Fury. I say should just fight whoever he wants for a year because Uysk and Tyson will mostly rematch tieing them both up for at least 10 months

Whilst I think AJ will beat Ngannou comfortably i pic that he will avoid a ‘gimmick’ match with Ngannou (for now) opting to fight Hrgovic to keep the momentum going. He’ll dismantle Hrgovic (mid-late rd KO) setting up super-fight with the winner of Usyk/Fury to become 3x world HV champ…all going well 🤔

I'm not sure, they would all be good fights. Previously I'd have been very against AJ fighting Ngannou but Ngannou did more than enough to deserve another shot or pay day and it would be a fun fight I think. If AJ's can maintain the form he showed against Wallin then be beats all these guys anyway. The big thing is that I don't see Fury fighting AJ ever, which is a real shame, but unless AJ puts in a performance looking fragile again, then Fury will not want that smoke, especially after Usyk beat him also.

I'd like joshua to face zhang but like you said its a big risk fillip is a better choice but that rematch from the amateurs does sound really appealing

I’ll be 100% honest I was more excited to watch AJ vs Wilder than to watch the undisputed fight. I’m still sort of interested in watching the fight still over the other three opponents that you mentioned I don’t really care to watch any of those fights. I’ll just watch the highlights if AJ fights any of those three other opponents, I definitely won’t pay for no ppv unless it’s free on dazn I have no care. If the Sadies don’t want to pay for it, I’m pretty sure lots of people in the UK, or in Vegas would love to pay to watch wilder vs AJ. But I’m pretty sure Eddie’s afraid that Anthony Joshua might get knocked out and lose all his credibility. Now that everybody sees that Wilder is not a good boxer.

Ngannou probably gets the most money and it should be an easy payday for AJ. Zhang might gas out, but he’s a powerhouse and AJ would have to be very careful. Hrgovic seems like the best choice. He’s a great boxer and could be dangerous but he doesn’t have one punch KO power and he has something to offer in terms of advancing AJ’s career.

I hope Ngannou gets to face at least 2 or 3 ranked heavyweights before getting a title shot. No matter how good he was against Fury he’s still 0-1 professionally. Andy Ruiz, Frank Sanchez or even Luis Ortiz shld b good matchups for him to build a winning record.
