Currently installing Z1 (BBK) on my Infiniti 2015 Q50 w/ Vossen VFS-1 19” wheels. Ran into the same issue with the Front wheels valve stems. Luckily I watched this video and ordered the Flush Mount Valve Stems. Fingers are crossed that they will clear the front caliber! Will give a status update once complete...

Cool video. The only thing I would change are the dust boots on the bleeder value. Looks like they were painted red, my OCD can't stop thinking about it lol.

Ya I will change them. The caliper paint looked better if I just painted them because masking the bleeder was a pain. I figure it's just easier to get new rubber caps lol. Good eye noticing that!

As long as concept Z it's a one piece bracket. Depending how you finish the calipers will determine if it looks stock. These are Nissan parts we put on.

LilSaint001100 I really liked the Z1 kit fwiw. With the OEM Rays it has so much of a “fuller” look. Side note that the exact same infiniti branded calipers are - for a reason I cannot explain - are exactly the same but cheaper.

thanks for the video. I just wanted to see how big the akebono calipers are and how they fit onto the rotors. I was looking at the wilwood 6 piston 14 inch brakes and it looks like the rotor surface area is quite small around the outer edge and the hat is quite huge so it seems almost bogus to call it a big brake kit when the caliper Pistons are quite small. so I am going to go with the akebono. instead of the wilwood. although I am getting the lightweight Z1 two-piece rotors.

So I need to know the OEM sizes for the akebono. I just installed a big brake system on my 370z and my brother was wanting my slotted rotors and base 2 piston calipers to install on his 05 350z. Would he need the front adapters to install the 370z base 2 piston calipers ot would it be a direct bolt on?

I'm assuming you will still need the bracket from Z1 because the mounting position is different on the front of the 370Z vs the 350Z. I haven't tried your particular swap though. If you could comment when you guys have completed the job that would be awesome so I can learn something new.

Excellent job man! You see these aftermarket akebono refurbished everywhere for short money, they even says akebono on them. They seem to work as good. Are they OEM? If so, why do ppl buy crappy looking used ones for 800, $1000 bucks or more when we can get a raw one at Autozone for less than 100 bucks and paint them ourselves. Powdercoat obviously if you want to pay, but paint looks just as nice. A friend vinyl wrapped it. Never heard of it. Looks awesome but it is peeling a little bit after few months. Supposed to be high temp film. Idk.

I installed the Akebono kit on my G35 about a year ago and noticed the brakes are a bit squishy until the pads heat up. To a certain degree I don't mind it, but I'll ask anyway: With the master cylinder adapter install do you find that the feedback is touchy at onset or does it still maintain the factory feel?

@@ScylockeX Make sure the engine is running when you bleed the brakes as well. The pump needs to be active to bleed it properly. That's coming from Nissan.

AnthonyJ350 interesting note. I definitely did not do that but just gravity bled the whole thing in the order my Haynes manual mentioned. If I find it lacking after the brace it may be worth the effort. Thanks for the note and keep it up with the videos; you are very thorough and easy to understand. Do you need the Z1 Motorsports Akebono Front Brake Bracket Kit (350Z / G35)for the g37xs 2009? and today I have tried to install the akebono but on both driver and passenger side, the rotors were basically grinding on the pads? I went to caps to see if I had the wrong rotors but seems like they were the right one. I cant seem to see whats the problem tks in advance.

Were you able to push the pistons all the way into the caliper? The bracket is just for mounting and your G37 should already be correct.
