This is a good subjective/preference way to get to a 'Pleasing' WB. A far more acurate way to get to an actual correct 'Balanced' WB is to use an 18% grey card and there is usually one to be found in most photographs. An 18% grey card is a shade (value) of grey that contains EQUAL amounts of Red, Green and Blue. In the 1st docks photo select the eye dropper and hover over the grey pieces of wood in the shot. The RGB values will appear in the magnified readout. These are the values for 'Individual pixels' that the eye dropper is on. When you find one that has values that are VERY near equal select it and watch what it does to you temperature Kº. Try to get within 1-1.5 variance in the values. They are most accurate when these values fall within the 40-50 range. This is why many of us old school portrait photographers use an 18% grey card in our test shots to establish a correct neutral WB for skin tones etc.

Another associated feature in Classic is the fact that the little screen associated with the dropper shows the RGB values. This is helpful in trying to find a balance between the 3. I seem to recall Anthony having a video on this a while ago.

I'm not quite understanding, when what looks correct in the window? The color of the bollard or the carpet? Correct to how we think it should be? If the whole picture is yellow, wouldn't that part be yellow too? I have trouble that I can't tell if things are off, or how off they are. I thought we're supposed to click on white parts. Ugh. My white balance is frequently off, too. I did forget about the dropper tool, though. Thanks for you videos, always!

wow never noticed that the navigator window was changing in real time! but actually aren't you supposed to click on a white or gray part of your image to set the wb with one click only? why are you clicking around randomly?
