Correction on myself! I’ve had a few comments saying that things like John Wick were actually inspired by 80s/90s Hong Kong films! My mistake in comparing these neon scenes in this film to John Wick. That era of martial arts films is a knowledge gap for me, so sorry for the mistake! Comment some suggestions from that era!

Donnie gave movie industry his time and his everything, he is one of the best that we ever see on screen

The part about the neon lights, that's not a John Wick thing. That's a Hong Kong at night thing.
@AnthonyAPerez17 күн бұрын
@@alexwong7324 Sure, it just felt John Wick-esque.
@alexwong732417 күн бұрын
@AnthonyAPerez yeah that's because John Wick is inspired by a lot of HK cinema

There’s so much content out there. Unless it’s spectacular, it’s gonna have to wait for streaming. Nice honest review! 🎉

When Donnie Yen is on screen, you’re guaranteed a movie where he’s going to beat up A LOT of people 😂 Cool to hear that it wasn’t a bad movie bro, I’ve not heard anything about this one but of course, can always relay on Anthony A. Perez to drop a review on ALL movies!!

When I think of my favorite Donnie Yen movie 2 come to mind. I’ve loved Donnie Yen ever since I saw his very first film, Drunken Tai Chi (1984). Clearly a kid who showed promise, who turned out to be a Martial Art god! Of all the Donnie Yen films I’ve watched, and I’ve seen most, I keep coming back to, Wu Xia aka Dragon (2011). For me it checks off all the boxes. An interesting story told well, one of Donnie Yen’s best acting performances, a badass villain, a beautiful and compelling female lead, over the top fight scenes, and co-stars Takeshi Kaneshiro!

I think Ragining Fire is a bit better with this style of action for Donnie Yen, but I still liked The Prosecutor. The subs were a bit fast, but I'm going to watch it again. Also, the Top Donnie film are, Raging Fire, Enter The Fat Dragon, Tiger Cage 2, Iron Monkey, In The Line Of Duty 4 and Legend Of The Wolf

I need to check this one out at some point soon. By the trailer and the clips I've seen, it gave me major Raging Fire vibes. Which is a film I really liked, so this is one I am for sure interested in!

It's based on a real court case. If you're interested, you can look up the Ma Ka Kin case for more background information. As a local viewer, part of what I enjoyed were the supporting roles, which featured several well-respected Hong Kong actors. But yes, overall the story was quite generic.

Loved it. Has some really bad ass villains. The guy at the end on the train was awesome.
@AnthonyAPerez15 күн бұрын
@@RobertDhondrup Definitely a fun action scene at the end. I wish the movie actually fleshed out the villains though. Didn’t care much about him outside of some cool action.

This has been giving me a lot of "Righting Wrongs/Above the Law" feels, so to see this movie coming out for us here in the US for this time frame, this looks to be fun overall.

Saying this was inspired by John wick show's you dont know anything about Hong-Kong martial art movies. John wick is inspired by Hong-Kong cinema, not the opposite. Neon lights were used in the late 80's early 90's in Hong-Kong martial art movies way before John Wick lol. Its ok you don't know anything about martial art movies but saying random shit is just weird.
@AnthonyAPerez9 күн бұрын
@@pvcore What a silly outlook. “Saying random shit is just weird” 😂 Any single person says things based on what they know. You’re right, I’m not overly familiar with Hong Kong films. Now that you say that, I’m interested to look back at that era of film. There was a different and more logical approach to commenting here. I’ve seen many martial arts films. Well over a hundred, but I can say I’m not overly familiar with Hong Kong specific films of that era. Thanks for the info, despite being an ass about it.
