This performance of "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" is about 1 hour and 10 minutes into their more than 3 hour concert. Right before this, as part of the same set of songs, they perform their aggressive synth hip-hop/rap song "Alive" and their neo soul style powerful, dark ballad "Trigger." As you are starting to discover, nothing SHINee ever does will be the same. As SM's experimental boy group, they never do the same thing twice and no two songs will ever be alike, so you never know what you will get no matter how many times you may have heard a song or seen them perform. Case in point, "Sherlock" is a special song that combines 2 songs from SHINee's Sherlock album, "Clue" and "Note." That's why the title of this song is "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" If you were to listen to the album you would see that they are two separate songs, but when combined they become "Sherlock." Therefore, if you watch the MV or listen to the song on the album, you will see that Minho's whisper part is different than what you heard in the live performance because when they perform it live they chose different parts of "Clue" and "Note" to create "Sherlock" each time. That's just one example of what makes SHINee's concerts one of the best. This whole concert is just as intense and amazing as what you just saw. They perform more than 30 songs all with live vocals the entire time. This performance was from their SHINee World Concert V (SWC5) in Seoul, so it was in 2016, however, "Sherlock (Clue and Note)" was originally released in 2012. As the title of the song indicates, SHINee are supposed to be Sherlock-like detectives, so the choreography has been designed to give them Sherlock-like poses and to show them investigating clues, and taking photos, etc. Tony Testa, who is a famous American choreographer that has worked with artists like Michael Jackson, choreographed "Sherlock (Clue & Note)," as well as their songs "Everybody" "Dream Girl" and "Married to the Music." He has also worked with other SM groups and artists, such as TVXQ and Super Junior, etc. SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" was his first Kpop project and it was one of the first times anyone in the Kpop industry used a big name international choreographer. Those vocals are why SHINee are known as one of the best live performances in Kpop. Jonghyun is one of the best vocalist in the industry, and what you just experienced is why SHINee is one of the most well respected groups in all of Kpop. Even as rookies, Jonghyun and Onew were so well respected for their vocal abilities that they were mentors and vocal coaches for several SM artists, including some of the members of EXO. Actually, Jonghyun has pretty much been ripped like that since debut, so it's really not a shock for long time fans who have been following SHINee since day one. Although, if you saw all the SHINee members without their shirts on, you would discover they all have amazing bodies, even Onew, who is the "old man" of the group, and never shows off his body because he doesn't want to have to put any extra effort into it. But I guarantee that they all have amazing physiques. However, Minho is actually the one who is known for his abs. He was literally voted best abs in Asia and was named one of the 12 hottest men in the world by Vogue magazine in the U.S. in 2015. He really won a real award for his abs. Just wait until you see SHINee's performance of "Dynamite" at their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul from 2015. When you think about it, all the SHINee members have to be that fit in order to be able to do all that they do. In order to be able to sing live and sound flawless while performing the choreography that they do, and to do it for hours straight, makes it so they are required to stay in shape. SHINee are known for the fact that they always sing live, so they have to be in top shape in order to dance like that while maintaining stable vocals the whole time. If you watch a full concert you will soon see that they can dance this intensely for 5 or 6 songs in a row and never sound out of tune, and then hold a conversation with the audience imminently after and they still won't sound out of breath. If you think this performance was insane, just wait until you see the full concert. They perform like this for 3 hours straight and they never take more than a 5 minute break in between sets to change their clothes and get ready for the next set. Fun fact: The reason why they had that dance break at the end with the backup dancers was because Taemin had to rush back stage to change his clothes and get ready for his solo performance of "Goodbye," which immediately followed "Sherlock." And right after Taemin performed "Goodbye", they start their "Ring Ding Dong" and "Lucifer" set that you watched. That's how non-stop their concerts are. To see what makes a SHINee concert so unique, check out their performance of "Sherlock (Clue & Note)" from their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul in 2015. You will see how they can perform the same song and it will have a completely different vibe and feel to it, and still be amazing, no matter what they do. The whole 3+ hour concert DVD has been uploaded to KZbin by a fan, and it even has English subs for all the parts where they interact with the audience, right in the video. You should watch the whole SWC5 and SWC4 concerts sometime, even if you can't react to the full thing -- watch it on your own sometime. :D You really can't fully grasp just how magnificent of performers SHINee are until you watch a full concert from beginning to end. You will be blown away by how diverse they really are, all while maintaining the same high quality from start to finish.

I’m not going to start my year off with negativity. In 2008 I know what came across my desk. Has it been updated on sites, yes. Partly because of Jonghyun’s not wanting to be labeled, but I know what was happening in Kpop before it became main stream in the states. Speaking of Michael Jackson-this was the most expensive choreography in KPOP (might still be for all I know…). SM Entertainment hired Tony Testa, one of MJ’s choreographers, for this song.

5hinee are the Powerhouse of KPOP! Taemin is know as the Koream Michael Jackson, but has now surpassed that.. Jonghyun's passing Shook the foundation of KPOP Entertainment at the time...took them a bit to come back..AND THEY CAME BACK! More to come with them!!
