Check out the Wen 10 inch band saw. 10 inches to the throat of the saw and cuts up to 6 inches in height.

Hey Anthony - great video... wish I had it back when I got my saw. :) You should do another video on how to properly set up the blade guides (which I know you fixed later). It's not easy to get them perfect. There are lots of videos on setting up band saws, but none show someone setting one up that has rollerblade bearings. Also, after using my saw on pine boards, sap accumulated on the blade. That caused the bearings to spin and made the saw noisey... I use Pinesol or Turpentine to clean the blade... then hit it with PAM cooking spray to reduce sap build-up. Thanks for posting! On to your stand building video next...
@AnthonyScolaro18 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you liked it. Adjusting the roller bearings was a bit of a pain with the Allen head bolts and all but if I have time, I'll try to do a video on that adjustment. I spent about a half hour doing it but now the saw cuts better and is even more quiet and no rubbing. The blade should last a lot longer now.

Nice review. I came hoping to watch you change the speed. I was confused because I thought there was only one threaded wheel on the big pulley. With the motor loose, I couldn't tell how badly the visible toothed gear was aligned with the original. I finally saw that there was another toothed gear below to the inside of the larger toothed gear, and then it was easy. Unfortunately, I loosened the motor offset screws trying to figure out how to pull the motor closer. Anyone reading this, don't do that (not needed). Only loosen the two external screws that secure the motor. The instructions need help.

I just purchased this bandsaw. Overall it works pretty good. If you want to resaw anything over 2 or 3 inches you are going to need to get a new blade. The blade that comes with it is not a resaw blade. I have also had a lot of trouble with the lower blade guide coming loose. There is just a single bold that holds it in place and it seem to vibrate loose all the time. I may use some blue loctight to keep the bolt secure. But for the price the WEN 10 inch is a very capable machine.

Great Video Just ordered one. First Bandsaw Was wandering after watching all the videos on setting them up. Would it be easier to adjust the blade with the table off to get to the bottom adjustments.
@AnthonyScolaro18 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried that without the table on, I guess you could do that but this saw was easy to adjust the bottom guides with the table on anyway.

Thre bottom of the gullets should be in the center of the upper wheel. The guide bearings should be as close to the blade as possible without their turning when you hand turn the blade.

Keefe Borden I sold it within 2 months because I was given an opportunity to upgrade to a much larger and more power industrial bandsaw. For the time I owned it, it was fine.

In the video you only adjust the belt on the bottom pully, did you also have to adjust it ontop?? Now its 3yrs since you made this video, how is the Wen bandsaw working out? I just bought mine and wondering how long I can expect to have it working...
@AnthonyScolaro15 жыл бұрын
samson2371 I had to upgrade right away to a more industrial type saw for the work I do, but it was working fine for the short time I owned it and the person I sold it to still loves it.

A little WD-40 makes quick work on removing the grease, then some acetone and it’s ready for wax or Bostich glide coat (used to be top coat) so far I like this saw better than my 10” grizzly, wish I would’ve seen this video before I pulled the trigger on it ...
@cigarsmoka97418 жыл бұрын
Great video. How accurately does it cut after setting it up properly? I'm seriously considering this bandsaw for making segmented pen and shaving brush handle blanks requiring 45 & 22.5 degree cuts which need to be spot on. I'll use it for cutting round bowl blanks too but accuracy doesn't matter with those.
@AnthonyScolaro18 жыл бұрын
Cigar Smoka honestly I didn't have it long enough to make cuts with those angles because I upgraded to a much larger 14 inch industrial bandsaw. It all depends on how much time you take to set it up. The more in depth you get, the more accurate it will be
@johnmhuberty714 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't it be best to level the table once its mounted to the stand? Maybe that's just me, I don't know.🤷♂️ Anyway, thanks. Btw you kind of remind me of Jason Priestley. Jus sayin'.

@AnthonyScolaro18 жыл бұрын
After really taking the time to set it up, I think it's a good saw for the money, I haven't tried to resaw and hardwoods yet, I would have to buy a good 1/2" blade and make a taller fence for that. Maybe in time.

sure was a lot of burn marks on that wood you cut that's not supposed to happen, that could ruin a project really quick not to mention all the sanding that will have to be done, try readjusting the blade. if it does that on soft wood that's just not going to work at all on something like Oak
