For what its worth i think McFarlane like hasbro had hits and misses. The recent 7" 1978 Reeve Superman is actually a pretty nice figure and has a variety if other hands and a alternate head. I missed out on the mezco so this one will do fine.

I genuinely believe the 1000toys Halo Reach line is the embodiment of everything that can go wrong with action figure manufacturing and by extension collecting as a whole. A $200 figure that doesn't work or justify its pricing that consumers justify either because of emotional attatchment overriding critical thought or because owning a "premium" figure is somehow a statement on the validity of themselves as a collector. As for the latter, a hobby that is driven by greed is not a hobby. Halo is in my top 5 favorite franchises, and that's even with the blatant life support it's on, and seeing 1000toys just outright exploit people's good will if not piss it away with scummy business practices just makes me sad. Also incredibly pathetic that they advertised chrome (if you can even call them that) visors as some sort of legitimate selling point while not only locking them behind exclusivity but also because Joyride did it over 20 years ago and far better. No IP deserves that, Halo least of all.

As weird and non-scary as the MCU MODOK is, he would have made a fine BAF. * Tomy Zavok: Who the FUCK wanted a figure of one of the Deadly SHITS? Especially over Chaos? Was it some Sega executive who wanted them to do it? The Bring Arts FFVII line is probably the most disappointing line I’ve ever collected. The engineering/QC/accessories are sooo bad for what they’re charging, but I’m such a FF7 fan I can’t not buy all of them. Yuffie has been the only figure so far I haven’t felt ripped off

This is the reason why Squeenix continues to spew up garbage, fans tolerate it. I sold almost all my Play Arts Kai a long time ago. Honestly it would've been better to just buy the bootlegs, at least their quality deserves the price lol. I bought the bootleg Play Arts Kai FFVII Remake Tifa, and at least I wasn't disappointed cause I got what I paid for. The headsculpt was even decent, unlike the Squeenix version in which they rereleased the figure (not just the head) to get Tifa's face right. What a scam.

I have yuffir on order. Once i finish the ff7 line im done. Just need yuffie, cait, cid and vincent. But then they created a new shin arts line with movable eyes. Im not buying all the ones i already have over again just for movable eyes. Ill probably get vincent because it seems unlikely they will finish the kai line now. They will probably uae the shin arts line to try and get people to double dip for movable eyes. If they wanted they could just sell damned head sculpts for existing figures and they would probably make money.

I’m going to say that the Bring Arts Final Fantasy 7 line is the worst series of figures for myriad of reasons. 1. They’re the only licensed roughly 1/12 Final Fantasy 7 figures on the market as the Bring Arts series is produced by Square Enix who owns Final Fantasy. 2. They’re twice the price of a Figma ($130) and barely come much more than a $25 dollar Marvel Legend. 3. They facial details are too flat, Bandai and Good Smile have the eyes recessed, which gives the illusion of depth, whereas Bring Arts are simply resting on the face like waterslide decals. 4. They pose like butt: they can’t do a T-pose, they have oversized ball joints and they have unusable ankle joints. 5. Square isn’t going to fix anything because they know they can milk nostalgic millennials and Gen Xers dry.

No one bought that Storm / Thunderbird 2-pack for Thunderbird. I'm sure that's why they felt they could just phone it in on his design. On the upside it caused the 2-pack to peg-warm a bit and I picked up a couple of them at Target for $11 each just a month or so after it came out. So I can live with T-Bird being kinda crappy, because the Storm was pretty well done and definitely worth the $11.

I like multiverse, they're one of the few lines where i enjoy the actual process of customising not just the results but I'm fairly particular with my purchases. That old Batman was never my cup of tea. Like you said, multiple style clashes but also from the say I saw it i knew thered never be another figure in the line it would look good with. I as a collector and artist am actually offended that some of these products and companies even exist. I used to own the 90s toybiz warpath. Its faaar from a perfect figure, but there a more than a couple things that destroy hasbro legends figures... So much of what we talk about regarding anatomy is present in that figure and absent in nearly all hasbro sculpts. How are we de-evolving.. Technology in toy making is so damn advanced now.

The only one I don't quite agree with is Catwoman. I recognize and agree with all of her problems, but she also the best headsculpt I've seen on a Catwoman figure at this scale, and a lot of her faults can be improved with some modifcations. I know that's not reason enough to consider it good. We're judging the figure as-is, not the potential it has for customization, but I managed to get a really good Catwoman figure out of it with some effort, so I just can't dismiss it as one of the worst.

RE: the Catwoman doll - from the front, it seriously looks like someone Frankenstein’ed it. Took a lower torso and an upper torso and hoped for the best. (Which they didn’t receive.) But isn’t everyone who buys a doll a “KZbin doll reviewer” nowadays?

In my opinion, Mcfarlane made 1000 plastic garbage toys recently, poorly sculpting, almost no paintings, lack of details, even some of his sculptors don’t even know how to sculpt a human body.
