From all the theories i think the fan-idol one makes most sense to me. The girl was a bunny(new jeans fandom name) you can even see a bunny doll in the box she opens. (Also her name is Ban Hee-soo) When she was at school many years ago she was a loner but she had newjeans with her through her camcorder, so kind of like how we follow our idols every step through our phones; their social medias their videos/their music and vlives, they had fun with her danced, sang and consoled her when she was feeling sad about her crush so they made her feel not alone. But she finally wanted to move on and get back to reality and start her journey with her crush, you see them walking side by side towards the end. Many years later she comes back to her old room, replays her old videos/cassettes and reminisces her precious time with newjeans. So its kind of like we're here with you today making many precious memories that you can look back to. This video may seem sad to many though because it's a direct reflection of how many people form this relationship with idols. Most times we always found them at our lowest and loneliest times and through them we were able to bring ourselves back up again. When we look back it is sad but also happy memories.

Same, I also agree with this theory because in the water fountain scene, the only real interaction Hee-Soo gets with her crush is when she puts the camera down. I feel like the cinematographer emphasized that point for a reason with extra shots of the camera being to the side-- kind of like saying "you'll only experience reality by putting away the technology that's limiting you." I feel like the main character noticed that and slowly started to drift away from New Jeans and make steps towards progressing in her real life. But like you said, her memories and happiness with them will always be something she can look back on.

the one theory that made the most sense to me, but is the saddest, is that new jeans are her friends who have passed in an accident, and she was the only one who survived. she has a hard time coping with her loss which is why we see scenes of new jeans being there when in reality, they actually arent. these "fan + idol" theories get repetitive and always follow the same formula. the boy is a loveinterest or friend that she makes who helps her move on.

It actually makes more sense to watch the videos alphabetically(👀) as you can understand the theory of coming of age. More specifically between KPOP groups and their fans. The protagonist Ban Heeseo (Bunnies as it is a play on words) symbolizes us fans. NewJeans used to be a big part of her life and was so addicted to them, she imagined them everywhere and her classmates thought she was weird. However, as she grew older, she found more important things in life even though it was hard (breaking the camcorder, ignoring a call from Minji, walking alone in the rain away from NewJeans, paying attention to that guy she likes (Hyunwook), etc.). NewJeans ends up becoming apart of her childhood and all of those memories are inside of her small dusty box as she relives them by playing tapes. Side A shows the reality of what she’s recording, while Side B shows the acceptance of it. In the end, it kinda represents NewJeans will always be by her side no matter what! The deer also represents innocence, grace, new beginning, etc.🦌

The more i watch it… on side B it gives the fan and idol theory. How she watches them from a far… how shes always alone. Here’s my understanding: The 6 person (Hidden face girl/Heesoo) consider to be stuck in her pasted still since the mv is showing her memories with the 5 people (NewJeans) that’s why she holding the camera at the same spot and playing the film tape as replaying those memories , just for her to remember but she wants to forget them as “B Side” MV where she drop the camera to remove those memories. And NewJeans are the ones who passed away since the deer means “the deceased loved one had special appreciation of a certain animal…(loved ones who pass away)”. Mainly she wants to remove those memories of NewJeans and not let them keep replaying just to remember her pasted everytime. That’s my theory and sorry for my grammar errors! 💗

One theory I personally like is that the two videos are a metaphor represent aspects of the relationship between Fans and Performers. Side A representing the one sided relationship that fans have by interacting with content the artist puts out and knowing the artist but not really and the possible real world impact of this. Side B representing the conflict between the fan artist relationship and the real world and choosing the real world eventually relagating the fan artist relationship to memory which can be revisited. My take is the female protagonist in the MV likes the boy but shes a shy and introverted person. She's probably a loner with not a lot of friends so to cope she make up her own imaginary friends who are the Newjeans members. It's all fun and games until slow comes to the realization that she can't keep living her imaginary world forever. Her feelings for this boy starts motivating her to become a more confident person and starts to rely less and less on her imaginary friends. With her new found confidence she musters up enough courage to talk to the boy and explain to him how she feels about him. It feels sad because with her new outlook on life she no longer needs her imaginary friends, its like shes saying good bye to her best friends who she had lots of fond memories. They fade away only to become a fond memory of her youth.

The movie Ditto is about two people in different timelines who are able to communicate with each other by using a radio, The camera recorder is a reference to the radio ( in the movie ) Newjeans are able to talk to the girl from another time line bc of the cam. my theory is: I think they were real but they died. Heesoo can't deal with it because they were her only friends. She became severely depressed so she kept picturing them and filming the same places they were when they were alive. It also occurred to me that they might have been in a car accident and Hessoo was the only survivor and that's why her arm is broken. So there was a Fan-idol theory. Here's the other one. Anyway, Minji told us that it's up to us how we see the video. In the story the girls were dead. Someone said that they and the girl filming were in an accident, and film girl was the only one who survived hence the cast. In reality, she was filming no one which is why she was getting strange looks. Either she imagined them or they were ghosts who were worried about her coz they write a heart and 'don't die' on her cast. She also painted Minji's nail but in the end, it was hers that was oainted and her cast was clean of any writings. The guy was a love interest who helps her move on. In the end, she watches a tape that was actually a part of her reality coz it was filmed before the girls died. People says the deer has some spiritual significance or is related on the passing of a loved one. Some said it was on survival and moving on. I guess she rewatched the tape in the end coz she believes they're still with her even tho she moved on. This was what I've gathered from other comments.

There are 2 analysis. One is that heesoo is actually a fan. She records them ,cheer them and walking in the rain with them. But they are not actually there. So when she see through the recorder everyone else see her as some kind of freak. Because new jeans are not actually there with her. So she threw her recoder. Life goes on with out new jeans. Finally when she gets old she play the video to remember them and new jeans came back to her place and treats her as friend like nothing happened. Second analysis...which I prefer..is that those 6(new jeans + heesoo)are close friends but because of deer accident(maybe car accident trying to avoid deer collision?) occur so except heesoo every new jeans member died. So that deer represent trauma(PTSD). So when deer came out all her memories are back and new jeans members are gone. But because of the boy she live on and finally deer(PTSD) walk away. Then she played old video and smiled then new jeans members came back to her as a memory and cheer for her. In korea fans prefer second analysis. This is my perspective. I think the correct order is watch side-B to side-A. There are spoilers in side-B because everything is a mystery. It’s just the girl filming NJ following them and videoing the guy, then dropping the cam recorder. I have 2 theories. First, maybe the girl(park jihu) is experiencing depression due to an accident because her arm has been cast, resulting in a schizophrenic state. Imagining that her friends are still alive in some moments. Second, either her friends died or it’s her that died but her soul is still stuck watching her friends. Maybe by dropping the cam recorder the girl is close to realizing that NJ is non-existing or she is dead and the deer represents the girl not in the world already. If you watch B first the ending is a girl watching the VHS and reminiscing new jeans memories then credits appear while VHS is still playing and you can hear the girls talking. More like the ending of side-B is the beginning of side A. Also, if you listen to the melody in side-B ending, it is the same as the melody in side-A beginning. Then continuing to side A, which the girl is still watching VHS of NJ girls, is like a continuation of what she is watching in side-B ending but more detailed. The ending of side-A is you don’t know if new jeans are imaginary or the girl is imagining them because she put the nail polish in Minji’s pinky but when she woke up it’s pinky that has nail polish. Also, she’s filming no one. OR the girl is dead, because during the drinking fountain scene, in the viewpoint of the guy no one is drinking at the drinking fountain aside from him. Also, Minji drew her but then erased half of the drawing. Then the video ended and credits appeared. Side-A they showed that the girl is not filming anyone. In the fountain scene, when the guy is drinking the girl is not there he is not seeing the girl and Minji drew the girl then erased half of her. Which would make you realize one of them is imagining the other. Either NJ is imaginary/dead OR the girl has schizophrenia or the girl is dead. So if you watch it from side A to B you will still feel mv is not yet done because NJ girls are still talking. And MV will confuse you because of the emotion, the feeling it is not yet finished.

my theory might be the popular one but this is my point of view: Ban Heesoo had 5 dear friends in school, had the most wonderful memories with them. they died in a accident and she was the only one surviving - her arm hurt (I personally view the scene when she is not join them to heaven - the one with umbrella - as her surviving) then a coping mechanism begun, a denial as she wanted to be still with them, happy and feeling safe. she then broke the camera (and the deer means ‘don't live in the past nor in the future’ aligning her timeline) and she moved on. but one day, as an adult, she missed them and she watched their tapes, and the girls were still with her in the end ...

I'm confused why you mention this, I was aware of that, I'm just not putting any groups down trying to lift up others. NewJeans is coming in strong with their own distinctive sound/concept directions and it's fire. triple A was fresh too, but you could see that there was some influence that was pitched in the creation, but also different too, not just a blatant copy.

it's cos he notices she's filming no one and how lonely she is. i guess you could say he's looking out for her unlike everyone else in the class/school who alienates her. i think that's how we can connect the deer into the story. i think the deer represents loneliness cos she meets it in side a when she's by herself (which is the scene prior to her waking up and finding out everything's been a lie) and then she sees the deer leaving in side b as soon as the video shows her walking side by side with the guy. so all in all, it's a love story with some heart wrenching elements to it, that's it
