EDIT: I've listened to the drama tracks now so some minor edits/additional thoughts are included :) Thanks to everyone who's reading/liking, It makes me really happy 😃 Sorry it's so lengthy and messy though! I got to watch this MV earlier in the Anthos* Behind the Frame Stage Event - It was amazing, thank you so much, I loved every minute of it! 💕 This MV though. There's so much love but just as much pain but I am obsessed with this song! I can't stop listening to it, I love the vocals, the visuals and everything-- Note there are spoilers from previous Anthos* and Loulou*di tracks. 0:07 This passage is from Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'. Even without seeing the MV, the passage itself funnily enough makes me think of Ageha. In the latest Loulou*di CD ('ARK'), Setsuna and Ageha meet and there Setsuna unintentionally riles him up when he suggested that Ageha is concerned about Mahiro, which is why he's so obsessed over him (Setsuna has promised to tell Ageha everything he sees and hears with Anthos* but also, Ageha is always asking about Mahiro in particular every time they meet). Setsuna repeats a line he heard from a certain someone: "Being overly concerned about something for no reason is the entrance to love" and this enrages Ageha as he sees Anthos* and particularly Mahiro as the enemy. (Please do listen to ARK, Ageha's reaction to Setsuna's profession of love towards Mahiro is quite something!). So going back to the passage, "My only love spring from my only hate" at the moment is certainly a case of "Too early seen unknown" for Ageha and this may just lead to "Known too late" if he really is developing feelings of love for Mahiro. That would be quite the development. In this case, I do think this passage describes Lihito's feelings towards Chise. You get a glimpse into his past in track A 3-6, which includes his POV of the events. It does explain his actions towards Chise quite a bit, especially why he's so overprotective. But it's not that simple, it's quite messy. His feelings towards Chise have never been all positive after all... 0:25 7 Roses represent the 7 members of Anthos*. The rose in particular, as referenced throughout the whole MV, is representing feelings of love they have kept hidden inside. Note that the roses are encased in glass; In 'Beauty and the Beast', the rose does symbolise love but the rose in the story is also dying. Roses naturally fade and die, just as beauty fades away and life is no different, it is transient. Us humans are just like roses that will eventually wither away and die. Dolls, however, are not the same... At 2:06, the lyrics say "This flower is perfect love" which is interesting. 0:29 Wooden boxes have a lot of interpretations in dreams. They can represent hidden aspects of ourselves, our desires and personal goals. They can symbolise protection, not only of secrets but emotionally, it can represent a barrier that one uses to protect themselves. Both Lihito and Kaoru are singing here - If I were to apply this box to them, in Lihito's case, I feel it's more the emotional case. He's more guarded than the rest of the group, he's hiding away his desires and feelings (the lyrics mentioning he stubbornly won't speak of his dreams) and this is emphasised in track A 3-6. He's also keeping his relationship with Chise (and more) a secret from the others and the box may be his safe space. The box can also represent unresolved emotions or desires. Antique style wooden boxes can represent feelings of nostalgia or feeling sentimental of the past which also applies to him. Finally, it could signify a fear of losing something valuable. This I think applies also to Kaoru. A diary being hidden away in the box, this diary represents Kaoru's memories that he wants to keep safe but also represents how he's kept his memory issues secret from almost everyone. The diary is also hidden with a key; the flower is locking away Kaoru's memories and we see in this MV how doll-like Kaoru looks (and it's breaking my heart). The box can represent emotional baggage or trauma that one wants to hide too. 0:38 The fish tank with Lihito can generally link to emotions and feelings, it can mean emotional growth but also feeling trapped, suffocated and confined. It can represent repressed emotions and feelings and this is surely towards and related to Chise (and his parents?), who is reflected in the fish tank. 0:47 Ryoga at bottom of stairs may be a representation of the journey he needs to go to reach his goals - Just like Mahiro, he wants to learn the truth, so they need to be on the same page/level in this case. Stairs can represent this journey or the path to knowledge which is very fitting. Just like Ryoga and Mahiro, we're all wanting to learn more to understand what's happening! 0:50 Mahiro on the balcony with his black and white wings. The wings can represent how Mahiro at the end of Season 1, 'Flowering', had fallen but he got his place back in Anthos. The lyrics here suggest he's been telling sweet lies so far, which I think is his way of being able to stay in AmagiriPro. Going back to 'Romeo and Juliet' in the beginning, we all remember the famous scene of Romeo waiting for Juliet to appear at her window/balcony. In this case, Mahiro may be Juliet and Ryoga is Romeo. The matching bracelets at 0:59 helps to emphasise this - Please do listen to the drama track for 'STAY', Mahiro and Ryoga's duet song CD to learn more about what the bracelets represent :) 1:00 The bear here represents Toki and he's disappearing from Haruta's side. We have a bunch of rose petals here too, representing Haruta's feelings of love for Toki. But as he's looking away from the bear, it's like he hasn't noticed it disappearing. Haruta doesn't understand Toki's current feelings and has realised that he's forgetting something very important related to Toki (refer to the CD 'ICON') and this is weighing heavily on his mind. Stay tuned for the next Loulou*di CD to get more Haruta and Toki angst D': Haruta isn't seeing Toki at the moment and that's what's going to result in him losing Toki if this continues. But the lyrics with the "I've got your back" suggests he'll still be there for Toki no matter what happens in the future. 1:06 Setsuna appears and the same balcony that Mahiro was on but it's empty here. Later in the MV, we will see Setsuna surrounded by rose petals (his love for Mahiro) but here, without having met him, Setsuna has nothing, no feelings of love. 1:09 The wooden box bursts open, hidden feelings of love (the rose petals) are now all out in the open. This is further emphasised by the blooming roses. We also have the thorns forming too - Thorns can represent adversity and sacrifice and how nothing is perfect (i.e. love is not all beautiful, just as roses are not just beautiful and pleasant). In literature it has meanings related to how even in the most beautiful natural setting, ugliness can be found. Thorns can represent sin, sorrow and hardship, together with the rose, they represent pain and pleasure. 1:29 Chise being reflected in the fish tank has the meaning in dreams of having image issues, which Chise definitely has (especially with the SNS drama seen in previous CDs). In this CD, we find Chise even more desperate to become 'Chise' as he's not satisfied with his current self. A big fish tank can also mean an inability to approach problems. This time, he did make an effort though (and I don't like where it's going at all). 1:34 As Kaoru's flower blooms and grows, he's becoming more doll-like which makes him more susceptible to control, represented by the puppet strings. He is surrounded by thorns, which stand for the sorrow and hardship he's going through because of his memory loss. The lyrics here suggest he is putting up a cool front and making memories, which is indeed the case. 1:38 Setsuna has realised his feelings of love for Mahiro, thus now being surrounded by rose petals but there's a black butterfly whispering in his ear (Ageha D:) followed by the pills covered in thorns. It may be the pills are representing the events that will be used to get rid of feelings of love, represented by the rose and gun. Pills are used to treat illnesses/conditions, ultimately to help one go on living. It may be these events occur out of necessity and people do things because they think it necessary. Will Setsuna end up hurting his love while acting under Ageha's influence? Maybe Rui/Loulou*di will have a hand in this, there are three bullets and the same thorns surrounding Rui in Loulou*di's 'Hopeless Ark' MV appears in this MV too. However! The lyrics here and the drama tracks suggests that Setsuna realises he's being used and he's just playing along for now. Similarly, Mahiro and Ryoga's lines also suggest that they're faking their appearances, pretending they're cast under the spell cast by AmagiriPro but actually, they continue to be their true selves in the dark, trying to find out the truth. 1:54 Chise in the mask could allow him to either emphasise one part of himself or otherwise allow him to perform in a way that's out of character. We have the thorn covered pills here - Would Chise do something out of character, while hiding his true self away? We see this in track A 3-8, where Chise has an outburst towards Lihito but he does reveal later that those were not his true feelings. The lyrics here suggest that he might exhibit anger (which he did), but also goes on to say he "Realises a love that can't be given up". We find out that Chise is about to take a (dangerous) step all so that he doesn't say horrible things to Lihito anymore, and so he could become his perfect self that's loved by everyone and for everything to be alright. But I really don't like where this is going... Haruta appearing here in lyrics as he too is worried about what's happening with the other members of Anthos* who he loves dearly. 2:02 Meanwhile, Lihito is burning a mask. The opposite of Chise, it may be he's decided not to hide away anymore (which fits with the very first line he sings in this song). He'll be open about his feelings towards Chise and that could be dangerous, given Lihito's mental state at the moment. The lyrics here also suggest he's not acting like himself. The drama tracks support this, showing him acting much differently than usual, in particular towards Chise. Everyone knows at this point that the two get along but they are wondering why he's giving Chise all the gifts which is quite unusual. Not only that but he's acting more vulnerable around Chise too, which really isn't like him. Thanks to the recent Stage Event, we learn that Lihito will be interacting with Loulou*di soon so that can't be good D: Especially given what he said at the end of 'TELL': "Even if I have no choice but to go down a path with no right answers, with a broken compass in hand"... Help I'm scared. Even more so with the dying flower, someone is going to lose their love and I'm scared of it being Lihito or Chise D: 2:09 Kaoru surrounded by the falling pages - I think they're representing him losing even more memories and he's unable to do anything about it. His helplessness had really come through in the conversation he had with Haruta in the 'TELL' CD, how he feels like his memories are all falling out of his head, he can't seem to retain them well. The lyrics "I've got your back; You're still here" makes me feel like Anthos* being there is that important for him to continue being there. Later in the MV, we see this scene continue with the puppet strings appearing, representing being manipulated/used but also something that isn't natural - Kaoru is becoming more unnatural the more this continues. It's revealed that the memory loss is linked to the flowers and that Kaoru is an irregular but also the closest to full bloom. For now, they realise they can't overburden him and they're going to keep a close eye on him and investigate his state some more. 2:17 Setsuna being underwater can mean that he's feeling overwhelmed with emotion and potentially wishing he could go back to a time where he was a dependent soul, free of any responsibilities or the burdens of his own mind (back to when he didn't make a promise with Ageha maybe?). He is completely consumed by his love of Mahiro, he can't stop his feelings or what he's doing. The lyrics "I can't stop, fall in my love, I've hidden the fabrications". So I think we can assume he's going to continue hiding his promise with Ageha in order to not be disliked by Mahiro. And now we have more roses and even more thorns. Things are getting more intense in terms of feelings. 2:38 Haruta looking at his past self and the image getting warped. With what's happening to Kaoru and having talked to Chise about it, hearing about how his colour is fading and is starting to become more like Setsuna's when Anthos first met him, he's wondering if it's because of the flower. And if that's the case, does this mean everyone, himself included, will end up in that state? Haruta now has more worries before and he's becoming more anxious which is affecting him. 2:43 Setsuna and Ryoga, the two who treasure Mahiro dearly ;-; Setsuna has been existing a certain way all this time and he finally finds Mahiro to love and is starting to change. At the same time, Ryoga isn't going to let Mahiro go, he also treasures him and needs him. We learn that finally, Setsuna has decided to open up to Ryoga. On the condition of never letting Mahiro go through pain, he's decided to tell him about what Ageha said and the two of them will now be on their guard to protect Mahiro. 2:47, Lihito's line suggests he was deceived and things become hazy for him, including his emotions and feelings towards Chise. I feel like this is especially the case after talking to Toudou-sensei and learning more about the circumstances behind his adoption. However, even so, Lihito still has his determination, even if he doesn't know what the right thing to do is. Right after this, a love has been lost. 3:00 Both the church and candles represent hope, purity and goodness. Candles can represent the passing of time but mainly enlightenment. People also light candles for others to say a prayer for them. Could this mean there is hope for things to go right? I will be grasping that, I need all the hope I can get. Eventually it will be okay... 3:26 With Kaoru losing himself, Setsuna's love getting more intense and him acting like there's nothing he's hiding, we then have Lihito with the veil (Side note: I love this vocals in this line, it's so pleasant
