今回不穏だろこの子達は、って強く確信してたのは薫と陽汰のふたりで。確かに明らかに不穏すぎたんだけど、 チセに激重感情を抱えてて最近不安定な理人も、陽汰とシンメでところどころの描写が引っかかるチセも、理人に切り裂かれる相変わらずずっと不穏な眞紘も、今回のMVではあんまり不安要素がないことさえ不安になる凌駕と刹那……抜け目がないな天霧プロダクション、、、どの角度から見ても、どんな見方をしても不安にならない要素がない

//watches MV //internally screams AmagiriPro, why can't you let them be happy, things just seem to get worse with every CD, how do you do this to us? 🥲 All I can do is pray for them at this point 😭 I'll give this a go! I'm not very familiar with art so please do comment if there's anything I missed/got wrong, I would love to learn more! A lot of the analysis I use here are from various other people's analysis of the art on Google so I don't take credit for the art analysis, just sharing my ideas on how the art reflects Anthos*'s current situation. This is going to be a long one! 0:31 Monet's "Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies" "His painting reflects the continual Impressionist interest in Japanese culture, as well as their interpretation of Japanese ideas about a harmonious relationship between humans and nature. The footbridge does not dominate the plants of the scene, but exists within it, a symbol of a human effort to connect with and access nature. This reminds us that the garden is not naturally occurring but is a natural space paradoxically created artificially by humans." I think this works well for Kaoru, in that he's not a member who stands out like Mahiro or Chise for example, he exists quietly within the group and he's also the healing, negative ion-type. This healing nature of his helps the members of the group as they go to him to share their thoughts in a safe and calm environment, just like the setting of this painting, which helps create harmony within the group. But the part that emphasises that the garden was created by Monet and that it's not naturally occurring really applies here as Kaoru from Anthos* wasn't always like this, he got the seed planted in him and was 'artificially created' into who he is now, by the people at AmagiriPro. Monet's paintings are of the "Impressionist" type, which captures the essence of light, frozen in time. Here Kaoru has been inserted into the painting, he's been captured at this very moment, where we could say he's shining brightest as he's currently performing very well as an idol. 0:43 John Everett Millais' "Ophelia" "Ophelia is a character in Hamlet, by William Shakespeare. She is driven mad when her father, Polonius, is murdered by her lover, Hamlet. She dies while still very young, suffering from grief and madness. In her announcement of the girl’s death, Queen Gertrude (Hamlet’s mother) remarks that Ophelia wasn’t unhappy before her death - that she was picking flowers just before she died, and while in the water, “she chanted snatches of old tunes,/As one incapable of her own distress”. Most of the flowers in Ophelia are included either because they are mentioned in the play, or for their symbolic value. As he painted the river scene over a period of five months, flowers that bloom at different times of the year appear next to each other. Millais shows the dead and broken leaves as well as the flowers in full bloom." On the flowers used in the painting: "The willow, nettle and daisy are associated with forsaken love, pain, and innocence. Pansies refer to love in vain. Violets, which Ophelia wears in a chain around her neck, stand for faithfulness, chastity or death of the young, any of which meanings could apply here. The poppy signifies death. Forget-me-nots float in the water." "Millais chose to focus on this positive note rather than on the bleakness of the situation, and made the scene beautiful and bright, suggesting that death doesn’t have to be a dark and dismal occurrence. In the painting, Ophelia is surrounded by colorful flowers and plants, symbols of life and continuity, and her body seems to be one with the water; this signifies the concept of returning to the earth when one dies." We have Chise appear on the screen before a splash of water revealing the painting, which means we can assume Chise is representing Ophelia. In that case, given the analysis above, we can assume that Chise is/will be happy as a part of Anthos* before he "dies", what dying means I'm not sure (I don't want to know 😭) but if it means having to leave the group, Chise will be performing and singing right to the very end. However, the painting implies that Chise will go mad before having to leave the group, so we can assume that Chise's mental state is likely to go downhill as he continues to perform as part of Anthos* (will this be a reason he'll no longer be classed as a "perfect idol" that AmagiriPro wants? Will he be dropped from the group?). In the last CD, we saw how Chise's being treated and it's not doing his mental health any good, it looks like this will only continue. This won't mean he'll be necessarily unhappy though - As noted above, the painting focuses on the positives, so Chise will most likely continue to perform because he wants to and is happy to be a part of Anthos*, he won't acknowledge the pain or suffering and try to keep it to himself. If anything, it might be that leaving the group will do Chise some good and he'll be able to return to his old life but it won't be as bad as before he joined AmagiriPro? Him being an idol will bring colour into his life, despite all the ups and downs and he will keep all of that with him. The painting contains various different flowers from different seasons, just as AmagiriPro has talents with flower marks from various different seasons. He'll be surrounded by all of them until the end. The painting does include forget-me-nots, Kaoru's flower so it's a nice touch that Kaoru appears right after but maybe this means that Kaoru will end up having the same fate? 0:53 - Okay not analysis but it's crazy that this MV comes out right after the Just Stop Oil protest group threw tomato soup at Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" painting last week! Was this on purpose?! I'm sure the creators had fun with this, I won't believe this is a coincidence 🤣 Made my day, ngl! 0:56 I believe this is a reference to Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" "Later in life, Dali often spoke about his desire to confuse the viewer’s eye with hyper-realistic imagery that conveyed impossible, dreamlike scenes. Even at this comparatively young age, though, Dali wanted to force his viewers to encounter something indescribable, undefinable, unknowable. To make us wonder, even if just for a second-what is real?" On the clocks: "In all of his Surrealist paintings, Dali played with expectations: we expect a watch to be solid, well-crafted, keeping perfect time with a resolute “tick, tick, tick” of the second hand marching inexorably onward. These timepieces, however, subvert that expectation. They are soft, pliable, and entirely un-watchlike... If those hands were ever able to move in the past, they certainly don’t move any longer. There is no doubt that time-or the concept of time, in this dreamlike place-is not functioning in a familiar, reliable way. And if time is unreliable, then what guarantees do we have that ANY element of this world acts in a logical fashion? The short answer? There is no guarantee. No constants. Everything in this surreal world that Dali created is unknowable." Other elements of the painting not referenced in the MV but still interesting: There is cluster of ants gathering on the back of the only face-down pocket watch. "Dali may have added it as a means of extra emphasis, perhaps-ants, of course, being those insects that arrive to carry away any crumb of sustenance and life they can find. When considered in light of the solitary fly (a harbinger of disease) found on the watch face above, these ants could easily be seen as agents of destruction." For the painting's landscape itself: a (seemingly) dead olive tree growing out of a large square platform, and another more distant platform closer to the water. The olive tree demonstrates the stunted growth and the lifeless nature of this world, while serving as a structural prop to hold up one of Dali’s melting pocket watches in the middle of the painting." Here we have Ryoga appear. I think this painting goes well with Ryoga because he is always questioning what President Amagiri is up to. Are things really as it seems? Does he really just want to create perfect idols? For what purpose? It's not clear. In that case, it's only natural to question this whole project. In a way, I think we're kind of in the same position as Ryoga as we're able to see a bit more than the other idols and thus have our suspicions. It may seem he's just trying to create perfect idols but that might not be it, there is definitely something else going on but that's currently unknown. I thought the olive tree symbolism in the painting is interesting in terms of Ryoga, if we do assume that Ryoga is like that olive tree, then he doesn't have the potential to grow much more as an idol (his flower mark is a clover to begin with, which isn't much of a flower). In that case, when Ryoga did go to see the President, he was told "Mahiro's future depends on you, whether or not he survives". Ryoga is currently wondering what that means but I feel like there might be a slight link here. If Ryoga doesn't grow much, Anthos* has that slight limit to how much they can grow overall too. If Anthos* doesn't become anything great and reach their limit, I would imagine AmagiriPro won't be too interested in them anymore so they might disband them. The future of Anthos* is linked to the future of Mahiro, if Ryoga holds them back then he's unknowingly going to cause problems for Mahiro which he doesn't want. Also from the last CD, we see Ryoga is becoming physically unstable. He's the oldest and is seen as the most reliable as a result but if he becomes unreliable, what happens to the whole group? ...I don't like this. Just in general, I feel like this painting is a good representation of this whole project, we (the viewers) are being led astray by all this, it's up to us to think and wonder what is real? More in the reply to this comment!

1:00 I'm not sure if this is a piece of art but we see ships around Setsuna quite a bit in this MV. In the case of the burning ship, I could only find dream interpretations, which say that it can represent inner riches, untapped resources and unexpressed talents, and a tendency to handle issues or problems in an aggressive or physical manner, which I think works for Setsuna. It suggests needing to learn to be more assertive and standing up for yourself. It's an omen for fertility and renewal and the person is ready to utilize their full potential. It's an omen for someone or some situation in your life that you find frightening yet awe inspiring (I don't know if this Mahiro or Ageha!). This person is always in search for knowledge and inspiration and looking for some sort of connection (this must be Mahiro). It's about life’s journey and how you are performing or feeling. The person is attempting to overcome a difficult goal or task. I also read it shows the person relates to someone on some intimate level that they are afraid to admit. So while it seems scary, it actually looks like Setsuna is heading in the right(?) direction. At least, this suggests he'll become more assertive and put himself out there more and surely, it will be because of Mahiro. It will be difficult but for Mahiro, Setsuna will do his best as a member of Anthos*. But the lyrics here seem to be a little negative, as if he's being made to hold back his voice despite having all these expectations on him... 1:07 Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" “It’s the vibrant colour that he liked, but it’s also the form. The sunflower is a very strong and sturdy plant. It’s not elegant and refined. He called it the ‘rustic sunflower.’ It has the roughness and unpolishedness of the real countryside, and that’s what he felt strongly about. The Symbolist poet and critic Gabriel-Albert Aurier claimed that Van Gogh’s sunflowers contained a powerful idea, writing in the Mercure de France of the artist’s “obsessional passion for the solar disc, which he loves to make shine in the blaze of his skies, and, at the same time, for that other sun, that vegetable star, the magnificent sunflower, which he paints over and over, without wearying, like a monomaniac.” Van Gogh responded that they did indeed represent an idea: “gratitude.” His paintings, he wrote to his sister in 1890, were “almost a cry of anguish while symbolizing gratitude in the rustic sunflower,” an image that brought him comfort and familiarity, and which, one can imagine, had a certain vital glow and form that could raise his spirits in troubled times." As we all know, Haruta is the sun of the group and the Sunflowers are a perfect fit for him. The painting has vibrant colours, just as Haruta is bright and he does have a strong and sturdy personality, while he was troubled after meeting Toki, he didn't break down at the way he was treated but he keeps going and does his best at his job. He might not be the most elegant and refined member but he does shine and is definitely the group's mood maker, keeping everyone positive. Haruta is the member who wanted to join the project most so I'm sure he does feel the most gratitude at being able to be a part of Anthos*. Then 1:13 comes around and I'm worried that something is going to happen that will break him and he won't be able to be as positive and bright anymore D': Maybe he really is hiding all his anguish behind a bright mask? But he'll have his memories with Toki and his current memories with Anthos* to keep him going. 1:29 Edvard Munch's "The Scream" "According to Munch himself, The Scream was a picture he painted to represent his soul. Munch explained that he painted a moment of existential crisis. He was walking down a road similar to the one in the painting, while the sun was setting, creating a beautiful, vibrant background. His friends were walking with him, but, looking out at the sky in front of them, he stopped, while they continued walking. He then described having what we would now consider to be a panic attack; he suddenly became tired, anxious, claustrophobic, and the weight of nature and of the world hit him all at once. Munch’s was an attack mixed with an existential crisis. Before his breakdown, one of his sisters was committed to a mental asylum because of her severe mental health issues. In addition to that, he struggled with the loss of his mother at five years old, and at about thirteen years old, his lost one of his sisters. Both died of tuberculosis. In fact, his past was incredibly traumatic, which likely contributed to both his existential crisis and the idea to go through with painting The Scream. As a child, he suffered from health issues and missed a lot of school - the issues even caused him to be unable to go outside in the winters. His father was verbally abusive and used Munch’s dead mother to further the verbal abuse, claiming she would not be proud of her children. Other analysis suggests depersonalization disorder. He's had a long career as a model and he holds himself to high standards, he's very, if not the most serious about his job. If he were to lose Chise and work goes badly, I'm pretty sure it would all accumulate and Lihito would breakdown like Munch depicts in his painting. In this case, I think the painting is more like foreshadowing of what is to come if things go badly. I hope it doesn't. We also saw in the beginning that Lihito wasn't so keen on forming any deep relationships with the others so there may have been a link there too, fortunately Lihito has come a long way and is getting along well with the others now. Or there might not be a link since it was more like Lihito was just being a bit of a tsun and was kind of shy :) I'm not too sure about his relationship with his mother, could there be a link? The red rose is currently blooming in his hand so he does have his love (as seen in previous MVs, we can assume this is his love for Chise) but we'll see later that this doesn't last... Though what is with the "There it is! Get him!" at 1:33? Is he being misled to harm Mahiro or something? D: 1:36 "The Thinker" "The Thinker was initially named 'The Poet' and was part of a large commission begun in 1880 for a doorway surround called The Gates of Hell. Rodin based this on the early 14th century poem 'The Divine Comedy' by Dante Alighieri. Some believe The Thinker was originally intended to depict Dante at the gates of Hell, contemplating his great poetry. I think this fits well with Chise and his synaesthesia, because of it he finds himself in pain pretty often and gets hurt but he still loves everyone around him. It can be distressing and at times there's nothing he can do about it and sometimes it just creates questions for him, which may show the parallels between him and The Thinker. 1:44 Adriaen van der Verff's "God Holds Adam and Eve Responsible" I think this one is pretty self-explanatory, in that God is holding Adam and Eve responsible for their transgression and eating the forbidden fruit, which is why they were expelled from Heaven. We have Ryoga standing on Adam's side and Mahiro on Eve's side. I suppose this means that whatever happens to Anthos*, Ryoga and Mahiro will be blamed (moreso Mahiro, who represents Eve). Throughout the MV, we have Mahiro surrounded by apples, the forbidden fruit. Here again, we see the apple and then Mahiro with a crown, which means Mahiro has "consumed the forbidden fruit" i.e. done something which AmagiriPro won't allow but this has given him some kind of knowledge/power over them but this may be at the cost of his place in Anthos*? We'll see! Naturally Ryoga is on his side throughout all this, so he'll be punished too. But the two of them don't want to lose Anthos*. In the last CD, we saw the two of them deciding they were going to find out the truth. Could this be the forbidden fruit? To be continued in the next reply!

All the negative comments he's getting on social media is getting to him, they don't know anything and they're just judging Chise based on what they can see. The lyrics here "Bring back the memories" refers to Haruta who is also on the screen, I think this is referring to something important he's forgetting about Toki. "I just dream a little" with Chise crying hurts... 2:07 Chise's tears makes the rose in Lihito's hand wilt. Whatever hurt Chise is going to hurt Lihito too and he may lose him as a result. And it looks like, going back to my comments on "The Scream" and "God Holds Adam and Eve Responsible", Lihito is going to be led to believe that Mahiro is the reason for Chise getting hurt. And Lihito isn't going to sit there and do nothing, he will take action which will hurt Mahiro as a result. I don't want to jump to conclusions here because I said something similar in the last MV and Lihito didn't do anything but this could just be foreshadowing of future events. At least this time it seems more like Lihito is being tricked and he's not hating Mahiro knowing everything. Now as to who would be misleading Lihito, one part of me thinks it's Ageha because he personally has issues with Mahiro and he might not be able to use Setsuna as he likes but it could be after Mahiro finds out the truth, AmagiriPro will get them to disband/get Mahiro to leave - But again, I'm jumping far too ahead! We'll have to see. 2:51 Setsuna and Mahiro are face to face, getting along but 2:55 we have them greyed out and back to back. Does this indicate a breakdown in their relationship? I don't want that. I blame Ageha or AmagirirPro, they're the ones who are controlling Setsuna and I don't like it D: Unless Setsuna stands up for himself and sides with Mahiro (I truly want this to be the case, he does love Mahiro and I believe that will be the case in the end!), he'll hurt him and he'll lose him. I don't want that. But again, the lyrics are suggesting Setsuna's voice isn't being heard. He's already living separately away from the other members and has a strained relationship with them, I think if something bad does happen, it will be against Setsuna's will. Or he'll be mislead into doing it. There is a ship behind them again, though not burning. A ship symbolises a journey, exploration, it can indicate that one can't get anyway staying on one island - This might just symbolise that Setsuna and Mahiro's relationship means that one or both will take some action and not stay where they are now. Things can't continue the way they are and this relationship will mean they take the next step in their journeys. Seeing a ship in a dream is a positive thing so I can hope for a positive change here, even if things seem bad at first glance. 3:03 Noooooooo, don't do that. Kaoru is Haruta's support system, he won't be able to keep smiling without him. Neither will I.
