They dedicated most of an entire episode to Joey being axed and how he felt about that, etc. The least the could have done to a guy who was, at the time, in the band LONGER than Joey, and worked his ass off during those years, was give John five fucking minutes to talk about why he left. I was landed when Joey was brought back a few years before the year mentioned in this video. He is my favourite vocalist afterall, but got to say what a classy gentleman Bush is for acknowledging that Joey belongs in Anthrax. Seen them do an amazing gig at Wolverhampton when Joey was brought back for his 2nd stint, was front row in line with Dan Spitz, who has also been overlooked for some reason leading up to this episode. Really thought it was the end for the group after the whole Dan Nelson debacle, so for Joey to come back a 3rd time, the rest of the band should count themselves very lucky. Don't begrudge them that though, because they had a shitty few years of bad luck from 'Stomp 442' onwards. As for 'Worship Music', I played it every day for a few weeks when it came out, although not as much as the other Belladonna era albums. Favourite track on there for me is 'The Giant'. His voice on that chorus (ably supported by Frank's backing vocals I think) gets me every time. What a tune! My top 3 are:- 1 - The Giant 2 - I'm Alive 3 - Fight 'Em 'Til You Can't

I was so stoked when I heard fight em’. I couldn’t wait for the record. So I quit riding motorcycles, was careful not to slip in the tub, only drove 55 til the album came out. They could do a set list with just the last two records and that would be awesome. Not sure how they decide which ones to do. They just keep getting better!

No mention of the 2005 reunion with both Joey and Dan Spitz? John Bush is a total class act.

Anthrax helped save Metallica back in the day. And Metallica helped save Anthrax many years later. That’s how a metal community works.

I have loved every episode of this series, but this one leaves out a lot. I get not covering the Dan Nelson stuff, but how about Bush being out of the Band? You covered pretty thoroughly when Joey was given the boot the first time. I hope when they release this in its full form that we get more of the story.

I met Joey in an airport back in 2013, and he couldn't have been any nicer. I'm so happy to see him back in the band!

For an old school metalhead, this album was such an unexpected joy. So incredibly put together. Music, lyrics, production. It was so invigorating to me at that point in my life. Would really love more songs in the setlist. Would love a few NYC headline shows in the spirit of last weeks live stream.

One of the best shows I've ever seen in my life was Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax in Grand Rapids Michigan in 2010. Joey was back in Anthrax, Megadeth played "Rust In Peace" and Slayer played "Seasons in the Abyss" with Dave and Jeff still in the band. No opening acts, the beer was cheap and it was loud as hell. It was awesome.

I remember Missy Calazzo from when she was a DJ on WSOU. I got turned on to so many bands from that station. It was amazing be in that area in the 80s if you liked metal.

I am so glad I was able to catch Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax in 2010. Bands like these don't come to Hampton Roads Virginia very often if at all. I've been into Anthrax since the 80s and my Spreading the Disease backpatch that went on my jean jacket in middle school is still there to prove it.

Worship Music might be one of the best sounding albums I've ever heard! Especially nowadays, when every metal album has such a similar tone, WM sticks out, it sounds so unique!

I bought this CD when it first came out. As I drive truck for a living this CD has been in my truck since day one. I have worn this CD out. It is one of very few that goes where ever I go. It was great to hear Joey's voice again. I felt like that kid back in the 80's when I first heard it. The only differences is I'm much older and the Anthrax sound is more refined. ❤️🤘✌️

Worship Music is my personal favorite album of the 21st century so far - of any genre. And I love the last Metallica and Megadeth albums, but this one is special.
@johnchedsey13063 жыл бұрын
I have to say I was floored with how much *BETTER* Joey sounded in 2011 than back in the day (and there was nothing wrong with his voice then). He has aged well and there's so much character in his delivery. The guy was born to sing for Anthrax. I'm glad they at least had a brief acknowledgement of John Bush, despite glossing over the 2003-10 years in this episode. Nonetheless, Worship Music was a powerhouse of a record that blew all our socks off.

No- one in the history of metal has ever been as happy and charismatic as big Joseph Bell🛎 A Donna. He carried me through through the 80s -to the 2020’s even though they mistakenly sidewinded him. He’s the absolute absolute!!!

The time between the 2005 reunion and recording Worship Music was a saga in itself. Joey was in, then he was out. They tried to bring back Bush again but that didn’t work out. Then they recorded Worship Music initially w/ Dan Nelson which I think they quickly realized would generate little to no interest w/ fans. A lot of confusion during those 6 years.

Man, this album and For All King made Anthrax stand alone as my favorite thrash band. While thrash gaining momentum circa 2016-2017 with LP from Megadeth, Testament, Metallica, Overkill, Kreator, Sodom to name a few, For All King never left my playlist for a whole year perhaps. Just wish could see ya guys in Indonesia someday.

Wait a minute! I had to watch Episode 22 again! You are skipping some years of Anthrax history here! You're not talking about the reunion with Dan Spitz and Joey, Alive 2, Frank in Helmet being replaced by Joey Vera in the WCFYA tour, Greater Of Two Evils, John Bush's departure from the band, Dan Nelson... Those were confusing times for fans following Anthrax news back then. I wish you could've talked about it all. I hope you fix it when this doc series becomes a Dvd/BluRay! I love the 80's Anthrax. You had the heaviness of Thrash Metal combined with the melody and great vocals of Maiden and Priest, and that's the kind of music I decided to make ever since I heard Fistful, Armed and Spreading. But the Anthrax from WCFYA 'til today is the Anthrax I love the most. It's amazing how you're are still so inspired and inspiring 40 years later. Thank you so much for all the great music and inspiration, gentlemen! Can't wait for the next record! \m/
