Anthurium Andreanum 'Safari' (Gorgeous Bloom!) Care Tips and Propagation - WITH UPDATES!

The anthurium safari is believed to be the within the andreanum family. They sport gorgeous inflorescence (flowers) that is unlike other Anthurium andreanums. In this video I share my care tips and propagate this into many plants, giving you updates at the very end.

Very beautiful flower.. Interesting to see the growth points on the stem. They are slow growers, so you were lucky to get a leaf or 2 in 9 weeks. I noticed a poorly looked after anthirium, in my hairdressers shop. So asked her if I could rescue it. I gave her the 2 bigger plants and kept 2 small ones that are starting to grow much faster thanks to our summer. Always learn something new. Thanks, Jo.

yay to anthurium and wow, I do like this video and sp.... we take these for granted as they are so common as flowers in florist .... but with stripes and these leaves R bit different... very nice! :) yahoo to anthurium month

I just got the green with pink blush. Really unique and pretty. First saw them in Hawaii. Mine is living my bright light but no direct sunlight as I close the blinds just enough to let in bright light. It seems to love my daily misting of the plant, too. Does not seem to need fertilizer.

I recently slipped and fell in my apartment. I didn't get hurt but my anthurium did. A leaf and the baby growing node attached to it came off from the stem with a pretty clean cut when I knocked it over. I'm not sure if it'll do anything but I put the thing in water... If anyone has a better idea for me do tell 😂😂.

That really depends on many variables… size of root, potting mix used, pot type, pot size… They like it chunky, airy, humid around the roots. Not compacted or soggy wet with water. They can withstand a day of being completely dry if your humidity is that high.

nsetropicals has a cross of anthurium scherzerianum (one variety of flowering anthurium) with anthurium wendlingeri (a pendant anthurium). the result was a beautiful pendant anthurium with a big and bright red corkscrew inflorescence. i’m pretty sure the nse tropicals youtube channel mentions it

It’s not an andreanum. I’m pretty sure An. andreanum ‘ Shibori’ is a pure andreanum but I’m not sure. Even what looks like a pure purple andreanum isn’t, there is a hybrid back several generations.

Is the Anthurium one of your favourite plants? Are there any variations without the flower?

They all bloom , this variety just has the showy flowers( for florist use) . Anthuriums are beautiful plants with and without blooms. This particular one is known for the flowers.
