I was told to kind of treat my Clarinervium like a Phal Orchid. So when I purchased it, I changed the soil to a mixture of 50% potting soil, 20% perlite, and 30% chunky orchid bark. I have it near a humidifier but it’s still dry in my house as it’s winter here. In the 2 months I’ve had it, it has been doing amazingly well to my surprise. It’s put out a new leaf bigger than the existing ones when I bought the plant.
@onlyplants Жыл бұрын
Ooh yes. You can try to top dress it with sphagnum moss, to seal in humidity in the roots. They actually love that (but dont overwater after you top dress)

OMG, Sean. I wonder how you handle your files. I mean, every propagation video always comes up with updates. And it could be like 4 weeks or 4 months later... That must be another talent you have. Yes, it's easier for us to watch our videos since you compile it together (that's why we love your videos). Thanks for your hard works.

1. Light: very bright, but avoid prolonged direct noon/afternoon sunlight 2. Water: 30-40% of the soil is dry, dunk them in water for 3 minutes. 3. Soil: Aroid mix, moss is mandatory, coconut coir - perlite - pumice are all recommeded. Moss pole is recommended 4. Fertilize: slow-release or watered-down liquid. 5. Temperature: If you wear 1 layer of thin clothes and feel comfortable, then it's good. Not too hot, not too cold. 6. Humidity: Higher is recommended. But room humidity is fine. 7. Special note: Clarinervium can adapt to your watering habit. For me, I deep water them every weekend. Some people add fertilizer every watering. But I use slow-release because it's less work. They are really bullet-proof.

I saw one of your Anthurium videos awhile back and you had moss on top of the soil and LET ME TELL YOU!!!! Since I've had this plant I added moss to the soil the moment I saw your video and my plant took off!!!!!!!! I'm getting a new leaf every other month. It was the Crystallinum video and I have that one and its super rewarding. I do agree about the humidity with the Crystallinum I keep mine in my cabinet and and nowhere else .
@onlyplants2 жыл бұрын
Haha I know right. This clarinervium in the video actually taught me that. I was looking at how it didn’t respond well to less or more watering… it just look like they wanted ambient humidity around the roots (but not overwatered)

Yay thank you for this video of my favorite kind of Anthurium. I have around 20 kinds of clarinervium, including its hybrid…they are beautiful! Especially the Regale x Clarinervium. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Actually I found them prefer brighter light, since their petiole tenda to be long if they dont get much light. And with better light condition, the leaves are upsizing really easy. Mine love to be watered almost everyday, and they love rains.

How timely....I got my first Anthurium (clarinervium) in October, it is doing fine, however the leaves are facing down close to the petiole, in fact making contact. What am I doing wrong?! Your tips in this video may help. I have moved it to another spot in my home (away from direct sunlight to bright/indirect and away from my humidifier) will see if that helps. Also, great tip on the sphagnum moss around the base...will try that too. Thank you for taking the time to put these propagation videos together and sharing all of your knowledge.

You can get the leaves wet if the water is clean and with little minerals, also if the leaves can dry out fast (ie good light, warmth, and most importantly airflow)

Great video! But a little bit nerve recking too (the cutting part)! I have my anthurium clarinervium for a year and I treat it like an orchid.. same mix, same watering, same light and it’s doing quite good, new big leaves quite often but it doing the same thing as said in the comments, the leaves are facing down.. it might be because of a lack of humidity..?

It could be, try to top dress the media with a bit of moss maybe to increase humidity both in the roots and around the leaves

Should we keep some parts of its roots above the soil as we do with the flower giving anthuriums

Its best to bury them when you can so they can become soil roots. But being hemiepiphytes they will grow upwards and shoot down more aerial roots below 😀
