@conscious_choice
@conscious_choice Жыл бұрын
@@aurapopescu1875 glycine is an amino acid. This is what the study says: GlyNAC provides the precursor amino acids glycine and cysteine (from N-acetylcysteine) for GSH (Glutathione) synthesis. Glycine, cysteine, and GSH make independent and important contributions toward cellular health and organ function. Their combination represents a “Power of 3” to indicate that benefits occur due to the combined effects of all three components. It is not just GSH alone…The “power of 3” refers to the combined action of glycine, NAC, and GSH.

I’ve been on glycine and nac for a month now taking ~10,000mg of glycine a day in capsule form with 1000mg of nac before bed with my last round of glycine. So far, my nails are hard as rock and the new growth at the base is losing those terrible ridges one gets in older age. My knees are so solid now that I can run up the subway steps without so much as a twinge of pain. My legs have an extraordinary amount of power I haven’t known since my twenties. My skin ( which has been very good since I started keto five years ago) has a youthfulness to it that I’m still shocked to see. My eyesight has improved and I sleep all the way through the night for 7 hours. Need for urinating is limited to a couple times a day and I no longer need to go in the middle of the night. For your reference , my diet is nose to tail carnivore and I also supplement with a number of other things. But it was when I started adding glycine and nac that my health and energy went stellar. I’m 64. I year later: I no longer take 10,000 mg a day and now take 3000, to 6000 mg per day to great result.

@@Physionic This recent human study was not successful: PMCID: PMC9261343PMID: 35821844 www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9261343/ "did not increase levels of GSH-F:GSSG" A smaller subset has some benefit. "In summary GlyNAC supplementation is safe, well tolerated, and may increase glutathione levels in older adults with high glutathione demand." It was by the nestlé group who purchased the glynac patent from Baylor. Possibly could be reconciled by too low of a dose for too short a time. The other studies it appears the doses were given all at once and in the unsuccessful trial possibly the liver cleared out some of the smaller doses which were split into two doses. Or possibly the health of the participants were different. " placebo or GlyNAC at 2.4, 4.8, or 7.2 g (1:1 ratio) divided in two doses per day for 14 days. " I assume this means they received glycine and nac each at 2.4, 4.8 or 7.2 and not a combined total.

Yes but the study seems to use very large dosages of NAC. Glycine is fine as there is evidence to suggest a 10 g /day deficiency. Do you need almost equivalent amount of NAC. Hey Seb - I can only answer some of your questions. 1. I know nothing about NAD supplements/boosters, except for what NAD does in the body, so I'm only educated on its mechanisms, but not the functional outcomes. I expect to start diving into that literature soon, so stay tuned. 2. I think GlyNAC will be beneficial long term. Will it offer ever lasting life? No. Why? Because glutathione is one pathway of aging, and while it is powerful, it isn't the only factor to consider. So, while GlyNAC will be beneficial long term (educated guess, I have no data on this), there are still other aspects that will carry on the aging process.

My concern as someone trying to build muscle and avoid sarcopenia is that NAC supplementation at 20mg/kg/day has been shown in men to reduce muscle repair capability. See Yannis Michailidis et al Thiol-based antioxidant supplementation alters human skeletal muscle signaling and attenuates its inflammatory response and recovery after intense eccentric exercise, Am J Clin Nutr 2013;98:233-45. Quote from the abstract conclusion: "Although thiol-based antioxidant supplementation enhances GSH availability in skeletal muscle, it disrupts the skeletal muscle inflammatory response and repair capability, potentially because of a blunted activation of redox-sensitive signaling pathways." I'd like to hear of any human in-vivo research that contradicts this.

Another 1200 mg prior to bed. After or before supper. Watch some more videos and kind of jigger your numbers and timing just a bit. I would be interested in how that affects you, if it does. I started taking Glynac about a month ago. Big improvement in brain-fog\cognition and a general sense of energy! The claims are true! I am a 57yo male.... The only concern I have is that there are studies pointing to the acceleration of certain types of cancers when taking one of the supplements: NAC... I think the jury's still out but this could potentially be problematic for obvious reasons.

There seems to be a big bump in the improvement beyond the two-week period. Out at 16 weeks it looks really good. Can you please drop a few lines on the average age of a mitochondrion? And if I haven't lost you completely with this "do it for free" request, what are your top three inflammation markers hs-crp il-6 and homocysteine?

@asdf8asdf8asdf8asdf
@asdf8asdf8asdf8asdf Жыл бұрын
@@DF-de8ibHi, and thanks for the Q. I was looking at the chart at approximately 4 minutes and 41 seconds into the vid. After two weeks there was a rather radical bump up. This bump up was for old people on glynac The third set of bars to the right, it was 16 weeks out and it was for young people, the control group who had no glynac What I wanted to know is if that positive bump up was sustained for old people on GlyNAC at 16 weeks. It's an absolutely critical result because if the positive result is only for two weeks, and then it goes back to a baseline of "no difference", it's not worth it taking an expensive supplement for 16 weeks, or longer. Kind of hard to capture the response and the subtleties in a KZbin text on a mobile phone....but I hope this may have answered your question?
