I recently heard that a friend s friend who is an established Chinese researcher in Germany just got cut off from his own research project, his grant, and entry into his own research lab! He was forced to choose to apply for a German citizenship or cut off his work in the university. I was shocked to hear this coming from an educational organisation. He chose not to be a German.

Many of them are angry at Netanyahu because he's corrupt and deliberately incompetent, but the vast majority of Israeli society has said they support or even encourage the usage of force on civilian populations in Gaza. Immigration detentions are common and legal worldwide, usually they detain the person until their departure plane is ready and escort them to the gate - nothing to see here. Obey the laws where you travel and everything is fine.
