@@marlaholt3697 not that easy. People first have to realize that there wearing blinders. And if you are familiar with the 'backfire effect' you may know that the brain tries defend things once learned. There are good reasons for brains doing that. In terms of social development and unlearning indoctrinated racism, it's very unfortunate. Same goes for once 'adapted' conspiracy theories. So, IMHO, it's a great win for all of us that she keeps doing what she's doing. Educating people for decades and its still so relevant today

@The505Guys, fear. People fear what we don’t understand, and often what appears different than we are. People also fear change. Sadly, there is systemic racism and oppression across the globe, and not just toward people of African descent. In many Arab countries, there is systemic and racism toward Black, Indian, Filipino/a, and others. Also, I think there is racism against people of black African descent in Korea and China, as well. I’ve heard some who have spent time in China say they are some of the most prejudice and also racist people in the world. I don’t know, hard to compare.

Classy is definitely not the word to describe her. She is a psychopath who segarated kids and used them as guinea pigs for her experiment. Idk it one thing to teach kids about history but it's not ok to treat them as if they did something wrong. Plus she excludes a lot of info when teaching. Not surprising she was on Oprah racist show
@gedison5551
@gedison5551 4 жыл бұрын
@@josephmorabito6992, “psychopath”? Maybe become more familiar with the actual definition of that word. It’s not the right way to describe her or her work. Her methods are certainly controversial, and offensive to some. That’s going to be a matter of opinion. While the kids she taught in school may have been sweet and nice outside of the study she was doing, they had had virtually no encounters with anyone of different skin tones than their own. No black- or brown-skinned people in their spheres. Kids can be cruel, particularly when they encounter other kids who seem different than they are. They are probably doing so completely from influences of their own families and communities, but, wow, they can really hurt. Jane was allowing what was just under the surface to be revealed, with a push. Plenty of people “learn about history,” but that does nothing to teach someone how it FEELS to be ostracized, shamed, and hurt due to features one is born with and cannot change. We don’t necessarily change from learning about history; we’re more likely to change when we have the experience of walking in someone else’s shoes, even if that’s just for a couple of hours or a day.

Her message/works make(s) her immortal. If she physically passes on to glory, tomorrow, her message is FOREVER. MALCOLM X was also a prophet to HIS people. As was Robert Kennedy (the brother of JFK) & Marcus Garvey. Garvey said, as america deported him: "look for me in the whirlwind"...l love that. This same message of liberty continues on throughout our generations. MLK JR, contrary to popular belief, was a prophet to all racists. Hmmm who are today's prophets?? YESHUA ( jesus in 🇺🇸)? Hebrew Isrealites? trump? Childish Gambino? Oprah? Shawn Hannity? Kapernick? Are they too, practicing what they preach? A sure sign of one, is the realization of a true and honest sacrifice, for the cause of mankind. Skim over/ thru the works of the prophets of the cannon (BIBLE), then Look around this world. 👀. Who are they really? Immortal...

The problem is this goes much deeper than you are showing right now as if the letter "J" was created in 1478 who then is this Jesus guy? Answer he is a creation of the church who went into the scriptures both adding and removing stuff in an attempt to remove the creator from his very own book, along with his son, and his chosen people. Once there where done re-writing history they set out with their new book, call the Bible, to concur the world armed with this unholy creation of theirs and a sword and a gun. This all took place around 500 years ago as the Roman Catholic Church started all of this due to their greedy nature and lust for power. The true name of our messiah is Yahushua and it is good to note that the creator's name is in his name as the name of our creator is YAH. This lie that was put out has caused billions to go to the lake of fire. When one tries to get close to the creator and do right they reach for this Bible and are thus never allowed to do things correctly right from the start as one can only enter into the Kingdom of YAH if they are born again of the water and the spirit meaning you must be baptized in the name of his son and then receive holy spirit, which also has a different name. It clearly states that no one will enter into the kingdom if they don't do this as that is what is writing in the scriptures. So, with this false book anyone following it has no chance of entering into the kingdom due to the lies put out by the Roman Catholic Church over 500 years ago as the very Bible is apart of that lie. People like me whom have woke up have switched to the Cepher which has 87 books in it not just 66 and the names have been restored. The word they use to give themselves the authority to make changes to anyone's history they come across is, "Transliteration." Now Revelations warns everyone not to make any changes to these scriptures in 22:18-19 but these people are fearless and don't fear the creator and with their fearlessness have doomed billions to the lake of fire.

He didn’t look lost to me, as I sensed what you are saying; it looked to me more as though he had many questions and wanted to lead the conversation. Jane is clear and concise and continues with her train of thought, which most people don’t get a chance to do anymore on interviews. We live in a culture where people talk over each other and are more interested in being heard than listening. The interviewer was sharp enough to let the topic flow naturally once he realized Jane has the competence and experience (not to mention humanity) to direct the conversation back to the interviewer. Sad that most people have to fight to be heard anymore on talk shows. This guy didn’t let his ego get in the way and allowed a lot of information to get released in a short period of time.

I remember Jane Elliot from a segment of “60 minutes”, back in the early 70’s, I was a little kid, then but I will never forget it. She wanted to prove that racism was a learned attitude. Jane took her all white elementary class students, and divided them. The blonde haired and blue eyed kids from the brunette haired and brown eyed kids. She gave the blonde kids treats and special privileges and listened intently to them in what they had to say about classwork. The brunette kids, were not afforded the same; even the blonde kids started policing the brunette kids and made sure they did not receive any of the goodies and started monitoring them to make sure they did not go over their alloted recess time. When the brunette kids tried to explain classwork, Jane would cut them short, or ignore that they were trying to be heard. In frustration the brunette kids started to see that their wanting to be comforted did not matter. No one would come to their rescue. At that point as a black kid, I cried because I knew those kids in that moment knew how it felt to be a black person in America, or at least pain; and it hurt me. To see them try to explain themselves and nobody listening to you, because white people (or peach color skinned people, as a childhood friend described her white skin) have affirmed and confirmed assumptions about you and those who look like you. Years later me and other black family members and friends, would refer to that segment on 60 minutes, because it touched and wounded us so deeply. I am a lover of reading and one of my favorite books is “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Bronte. When I read that book Jane Eyre reminded me of the African American experience, in that she was ridiculed, mistreated and looked down upon for being different (for her, in attitude). Her Aunt Reed who she was ward to hated Jane because she would not fall under her submission, willingly. She sends her off to a poor girl school under the scrutiny of Mr. Brocklehurst, the cruel overly religious Schoolmaster, who sees no good in Jane. To make a long story short, just as things were going good for Jane at the school, Mr. Brocklehurst, not caring about the advancements she made at the school, chooses one cringeworthy day to make a cruel example out of her in front of the whole school telling them that her Aunt Reed, told him that she was a liar and a thief and that no one should associate with her, or they would be tainted. This is exactly how we African Americans feel that no matter how we try to live our lives, there is always a fear that a Mr. Brocklehurst (or a racist white person, who feel they are in charge) will come along to take all that we have away. Sometimes our lives, like George P. Floyd. At first I was mad that Jane Elliot made those brunette kids experience that sort of shame we black people endure. But, all I can say all these years later is it was needed. Thanks, Jane.
