For consideration regarding taking meclazine: The American Geriatric Society (AGS) has placed meclizine on the Beers list of medications in patients over 65yrs of age to avoid because of the strong anti-cholinergic properties resulting in increased risk of confusion, falls/fractures and mortality. Meclizine is not recommended for patients with glaucoma. Do the necessary research substantiating that the above information is valid and applicable to one's situation.

Thank you. And in addition to the immediate risks (drowsiness, risk of falls, etc) it also may increase the risk for dementia, including Alzheimers in older adults. So definitely NOT for anti-aging unless you want to be the longest living person with Alzheimers.

If the drugs under consideration are in a class called anti-cholinergics (including meclazine), then there are numerous studies that suggest these drugs are linked to dementia. Perhaps more work is needed to differentiate drugs that support longevity AND reduce the risk of dementia.

But there's a guy with a 7 second memory span living(maybe still alive) in England. His herpes broke through the blood brain barrier and attacked the part of the brain that does the memory thing. He's still married and so isn't he happy and if he is how is dementia a bad thing?!

Miller's dose of Fisetin, 600ppm, turns out to be about 3mg/kg in mice -waaaaaay off target of published literature. Dr. Kirkland's dose of Fisetin is 20mg/kg. The equivalent in mice would be around 2.5gm, NOT 3mg. source: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3WymmOFecqqoKc

Meclizine in the ITP fed the mice a human equivalent dose of about 730mg of Dramamine per day for a 70kg person. Meclizine is often dosed at 25 or 50 mg for motion sickness. However, Meclizine is often used as a street drug. You can buy a bottle for a few bucks and by taking anywhere from 10-20 you can feel "drunkish" to hallucinate for hours on end. I can not see Meclizine dosage even remotely close to 700mg. After halucination wearoff around 8-16hrs later, you have short term memory loss for a few days. This is often accompanied by hearing voices and having body aches/tingles.

Astaxanthin is the second drug mentioned. It might protect cells from damage. Astaxanthin might also improve the way the immune system functions. People use astaxanthin for many purposes, including Alzheimer disease, athletic performance, aging skin, muscle soreness from exercise, and many others. (WebMD)
