I decided before meeting my current man that I would not worry about superficial things and would meet him a second time no matter whether there was any physical attraction or not. I am SO glad I took on that mindset!! We connected straight away and have talked every day since. We have developed a mutual love for each other and the relationship is amazing! The most incredible thing was that from right at the beginning I felt safe. He made me feel so safe. I don't know how he did it, but he did. And that blew my mind because I have a long background of abuse and trauma. I went through a little freak out that it was all too good to be true, but it was too good to not keep going 😉

John is very good at this! Im between stage 2 and 4 - doubt/uncertainty on his part and triggering. Only just learning about rubberbanding so embracing our month apart becauase i've never felt safer and more emotionally connected to someone and i wasn't even initally attracted to him!

Sorry, I know I won't like the guy if the attraction on my end isn't there.. I dated 7 of them & kept on looking cause there was no interest/ attraction with any & I'm sure I could have felt "safe" with them but no butterflies existed. Seemed boring. That's the 1st step when u see / meet someone. I'f it's not there then there is no interest. You have to both be turned on to one another. Not one more than the other. It has to be mutual.. So if I don't like bald men I would feel safe with them ? And ur saying u can't feel safe with the guy your attracted to then... wth?

I agree with you 💯 on my end if I am not attracted to him it just doesn’t go anywhere. I married my first husband with the principles you mention. I got the proposal the ring the wedding of my dreams but guess what. I was not in love with him I never felt the butterflies I never felt that feeling of when you love someone. This affected my marriage tremendously because I couldn’t be loving nurturing towards my ex husband. Love was lacking in my marriage. This time arroyo want to make sure I am sexually attracted to the man I marry

I totally agree. If I’m not sexually interested in a man, the feelings that drive me to be affectionate and take good care of him just aren’t there. I feel repulsed at touching (and being touched by) him, my whole female reproductive system stays firmly locked at level zero, and I’m sorry, but in my experience, “feeling safe” and getting to know him prevent none of that! I feel perfectly safe with many wonderful people, but that doesn’t equate to me wanting to date or sleep with them, and I’m not about to LIE to myself and say that it does just to spare fragile feelings or prove myself PC. Dating based on physical attraction (in early stages) isn’t shallow, nature created it for a REASON, and both males *and* females should abide by its wisdom if we know what’s good for our futures and our species. Besides, it would be awfully cruel for me to lead a man on if I’m not interested in him. He deserves a chance to be with a woman who thinks he’s cute, and me selfishly wasting his time while *knowing* we would go nowhere would take that away from him. I wouldn’t want to date or marry a man who didn’t find ME desirable, so why would I want to hypocritically put someone else in that position?
