What city are you in? Im guessing not st. Louis. Id be interested in seeing if you take my insurance if you can see me online or if you are in my city. I watched the hakka video. Im trying to remove the clogs and nipple blisters. Hakka hasnt worked yet. I tried 1 time. Ive been soaking in the bathtub with epsonsalt maybe every other day. Idk if that has the same effects. I dont really know how to use the hakka. The physical therapist and other doctors told me to use it with epson salt. The lactaion consultants, nurse practioner, physical therapist, ect are all very inconsistent with what i should do. Ive tried almost everything they have said. Tried a physical therapist, 3 days ago. That made it worse. The mastitis lump got large and painful jan 9th. Its 11pm on jan 13th and im still clogged up. I need to get better and figure out why i keep getting clogs every day. Nurse practioner wouldnt run any tests and says its just thick milk causing clogs. I sure hope i can find out how to fix this. Im miserable.

Also - the newest recommendation for clogs and mastitis is ice and ibuprofen….moved away from heat. Thats worked for most but some have only responded to wet heat aka my trick called “hot diaper”.

I have mastitis now. I got the antibiotic yesterday. Must take it every 6h. I don’t have milk! Mastitis is in my left breast but even the right one has no milk!!!! My baby is 4 weeks old crying hungry. He also is fussy and got diarrhea. I think it’s because of the antibiotic I take for mastitis. What should I do?

I’m on day 4 of antibiotics for mastitis. My baby is 8 months old and I had to quarantine from him due to a covid exposure. I think that’s what caused the mastitis - I wasn’t feeding like I usually do. I have never been so sick in my life! I have worked so hard to breastfeed my baby and I feel like this is going to make me have to stop. My milk supply isn’t recovering at all. Any tips for that?

How should I sleep during mastitis? I sleeper through the night, and I’m a side sleeper so all of one side of my right breast it really tender, also is it okay to breastfeed my baby while I take antibiotics

Many will sleep on their back so they don’t apply pressure to the breast. During mastitis the best thing to do is continue to nurse (and or pump) as normal even during the course of antibiotic treatment.
