THE FIX! Persistent Bottle or Breast Refusal

Your baby keeps refusing the bottle or keeps refusing the breast. No matter what you do. You have been trying over and over again for them to take the bottle. You're trying the bottle every day. You are trying the breast at every feeding, and the baby is arching away, fighting, crying, screaming and it is so stressful for you AND the baby.
Listen as I give you a trick that can help. It can help bring calm back to feeding and help you and baby feel much less stressed around feeding times.
Is there a window of time where you "it will never happen?" Did you pass that time frame and the baby will never take a bottle now? Is your baby too old to ever return to the breast? I answer that common question too.

Thank you. I felt a vacation of 2 months was too long. I fell sick twice. Bf was a nightmare with flat and cracked sour nipples. Nipple shield usage got him used to shallow latch. He would attack like a shark. Never opened his mouth wide enuf for me to push in the areolas. Saw every possible vidoe on KZbin b4 I called it quits. I have been trying past 2 days but he keeps crying to get the bottle. I feel like I am the worst possible mother to first refused to BF him and now forcing him back to them. I also c the positive side that he won't be crying uncontrollably when I am off to work. I just have to accept that I tried for nearly a month till I gave up.

Getting there. Refusing the bottle. Trying cup feeding sometimes or bottle when baby is sleepy. Waiting till four months. May have to introduce semi solid diet early. Makes me want to sue WHO for its breastfeeding campaigns. It's costing mental health for mothers like me.

Summer THIS has truly blessed me on today ! Thank you for sharing this in the timing that you have. I am 4 months PP and have been EPing for 2 months now. Looking back the 1st 2 months PP I was regularly Breastfeeding with Shield bc baby wouldn't latch along with pumping and out of frustration and the headache/stress of the shield AND baby refusing breast all together, I decided to just use the bottle. With having a high supply, I couldn't wrap my mind around why baby would get so angry while at the breast. I miss the Breast Feeding and will never give up the hope of Breastfeeding directly without shield. It's just that sometimes we are made to feel like we have missed the time frame if they don't latch early on. I REALLY needed this encouragement and will continue to pray for and hope for a Breastfeeding experience as I long for that direct contact/connection while Feeding, for me and baby. EPing 24/7 can be overwhelming and draining at times and feel there is so much more freedom and less thinking with Breastfeeding 🙏🏽💕 BLESS YOU for ALL that you do !!

This brings me hope!! My baby is 3 months and is refusing the breasts. I never really got to breastfeed due to low milk supply, but the baby was happy to latch even if it was just for comfort, but now he hastes it. I’m just starting to increase my supply and I think it would help if the baby was latching again. I guess I will keep trying.
@GingeRenee
@GingeRenee 9 ай бұрын
I’m 7 weeks postpartum and I’m sharing the same struggle as you. Low supply, baby wasnt able to latch very well but when finally was able to start latching seems to hate the breast now. I can’t seem to win at the moment but I’m fighting to keep my supply up and try everyday to breastfeed. I read the rooting reflex ends between 4-6 months and that has a lot to do with their bottle preference because the hard nipples trigger their reflex and it feels good to them that sensation. A lot of people I have watched on here seem to see success getting baby to breastfeed starting at 4-6 months so I wonder if the reflex dulling helps just hope this gives you some hope as it did for me. Well anyways, Wishing you the best and don’t give up and remember to give yourself grace. As a momma we need to remember to be kind to ourselves too and not expect anymore from ourselves then we would form a loved one in the same boat as us. It helps a lot to not be so hard on ourselves. Parenting and being a momma is hard enough no need to make it harder on ourselves. 😊❤

Very informative! My baby is exactly 1mo she was born prematurely at 35weeks + 5 days and small so breastfeeding is very difficult for her since birth due to her mouth being small due to preemie size. She will latch on but for only a minute and continue to whine and fuss. The bottle nipples work way easier so she likes the bottle better. I recently switched to Avent natural with a more breast shape and she really doesn’t like those because she has to work to get the milk out. She is working with it though yet she will get frustrated! She’s bigger yet she still struggles with my breast. She’s 4 weeks now?? Ugh shouldn’t she be latching on without so much of a struggle?

And you’ve ruled out high lipase? Tried cold, warm and freshly pumped milk? Some babies are very very particular. 🫢😅

Obviously that’s not what I said. There are many ways to give a baby milk other than a bottle or a breast. If they are bottle refusing you take a break and only breastfeed. If they are refusing the breast, you can give them milk in a cup, syringe, eye dropper, medicine dropper, straw…. I can keep going.
