I have an ambassadeur 5000 that I found in my grandpa's garage years ago. I've tried looking it up and can't find anything on it. It has the numbers 84-1 on the foot and that's it. Any ideas on where I can get info on it?

I don't understand why an original Garcia reel, model GK 62, Kigfish, containing the box, manual and accessories, never used and having been manufactured before the partnership with Mitchell, whose products had the Garcia Mitchell brand, and after Garcia was purchased it started to have the Abu Garcia name, is worth less than models manufactured only by Abu Garcia, whose manufacture is more recent. Could someone explain this to me?

Got a box of reels at a yard sale for parts and repairs. I put it up for .99 cents auction start and it went up over a $1000 today. I have no idea why? The reels in this video look much nicer and way more expensive. I know nothing about fishing and never purchased reels before.

I have a garcia collection as nice as this , with shimanos, daiwas and others roo. My rarest garcias are the 1980s Bass pro collection the black royal express 4500, the gold crankin 3.8 express, and the silver high speed 6.2, dozens more I can't remember, all sitting in my reel cabinet some for 40 years, most never saw water. Most have the boxes. Have a decision is it time to sell and get some new tackle and update? Stay tuned

Hi! I have a question. I am an angler from Sweden and I would like to know if anyone here knows why a Baitcasterreel like Ambassadeur is called a spinningreel (spinnrulle in Swedish) when a spinningreel is the other one With a fixed spool. (That one is called haspelrulle in Swedish). For exampel is the first record 2000 reel called spinnrulle (spinningreel) in the Abu Garcia commercial sheet in Swedish. Even the rods are called the opposite. Spinnspö (spinningrod in english) is a Baitcaster?! The real spinningrod was called lightspinning from the beginning but are now called haspelspö. Thank you!
