In this video we hit a flea market in Santa Clarita California in search of some vintage fishing gear. We spotted lots of cool items including Hot Wheels, guitars, knives, Playstation games, Nintendo games and more! After seeing a lot of fishing gear that didn't really impress us, we stumbled on a vintage Diawa spinning reel that was in really good condition! Interestingly enough, I saw a few vintage Ambassadeur reels in an area Picker's Barn this past weekend and thought I should purchase them. I passed, but then I happened upon your cool video. My sister just gave me a similar Diawa.. it was her father in laws.. it was like new but I still took apart and re greased and oiled. It spins like atop. And it was on a 7 ft wonder rod. Can’t wait to try it out out here in Massachusetts. They’ll be stocking trout any day now throughout the state? Check out the vintage Luxor reels too. They are excellent old reels All metal and they clean up easily. Good luck on your fishing finds.? Also check out the Mitchell 304 0r 314. Great light tackle reels.

That was a blast from the past. Finding old reels and cleaning them up could be a fun thing to do during the cold months ahead. One of my favorite reels growing up in the 80's was the Diawa 1000C. That was a classic for me. Thanks for sharing.

Oh man that’s a great looking reel! I just looked it up! 😃 Might need one of those too! 😂 Any idea what year this reel I found was made??? I can’t seem to find out online 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@WhereWeWild Oh man - I think I got my first Diawa 1000C in high school in NY in the late 70's. I'm so old (and now sad). They were great. I wish I still had mine.

@@fishingwithair8727 Hahaha ahhhh whatever age is just a number, and just like these reels, you’re still cool 😎🤙🏽 But yeah man idk I’ve been trying to find what year this particular year is from, I’m guessing late 70s early 80s as well but not sure.
