I visited one of your stores today. Nashville TN, great staff and selection. Our generation needs a craftsman’s renaissance, everything you find is made in China.

I see that he applied the antique with Sheep's wool. I have been told to apply the antique with a damp sponge. I have even been told to put a coat of super sheen on before you antique, then antique, followed by another coat of finish. Can anyone answer or help with this.?? New to leather crafting. So any suggestion South Dakota are appreciated.

Did you apply any resist before applying these antiques?
@Peekagroove11 ай бұрын
No. You don’t need resist with eco flo

Thank you for a great video! Always enjoy it! Could you please let me know if I can apply super shene on top of antique finish to seal it - I'm always concern that it will stain the hands once you start using the item (ex. belt or wallet)

I don’t see much difference in all three. Can you guys help me choose which is suitable for my needs? I don’t see much difference between all in one and antique gel...

Does anyone know if you can put a top coat (I mostly use super sheen from tandy) with the antique gel or hi-lite dye? All my dyes I use is from tandy.

Hi Tandy, thanks for all the videos, they're excellent. I'm new to leather crafting and wanted to ask a question. If I use Eco Flo antique medium brown on my project, do I need to use a top finish afterwards? Thanks!
@ColoradoMcGees9 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know if I'm using the gel antique with a combination of alcohol based stains which would be better to use first: there is just some blending not total overlap of all antiqued surfaces.

I am making a Tandy Checkbook Kit. How do I create the fold in the middle? The leather has become quite stiff from the wetness during tooling.
@Saturn-Xd6 жыл бұрын
Wet the area your folding on the suede side. .. iv also seen people cut a shallow line into the lead to help get a perfect straight fold

Seems odd that holes for stitches were punched before color applied...Seems col should be done first, before punches and certainly before stitches.

In the first example with the antiquing gel, was the leather treated with anything (oils, seals, stains, etc) prior to the antiquing?
@TandyLeatherCo10 жыл бұрын
We'll have to double check with George, but it looks to regular veg tanned leather. Factors that can affect the way leather takes color is how thick it is applied, how well and evenly the stain is worked in to the leather, what finish you use, how much the leather has darkened from age, and a number of other variables. We always recommend testing the stain on scrap samples from their project to make sure they get the color they are looking for before applying to the finished project.

Tandy Leather Fantastic, thanks so much! I've been watching all your other videos and think I have a good understanding of the application process. I'll be heading my local Tandy Leather here in LA soon to get stocked up!

How about letting them work with what they have and quit getting offended at the drop of a hat? George Hurst is the best HUMAN BEING at what he does, regardless of gender. My local Tandy's manager is a lovely lady that is probably one of the best leather workers in Tulsa. I ask her questions all the time and she provides much better advice than most (maybe all) of the males in Tulsa. Because she the best HUMAN BEING they have in Tulsa. Gender doesn't matter. It's who they have that're willing and able. Quit your PC garbage and enjoy your free content.

What a useless video....what the point of showing three different brands if you are not explaining the difference.....also...all three stains have to be the same colour so the difference between all three brands can be compared.
