100% understand about the draw to the 50s and 60s stuff even tho we weren't even around for it. There's just something about the artwork on the boxes, the designs of the items, all of it just draws you in

I was born in 67 and loved plastic models like the Aurora classic monsters with the glow in the dark pieces. My absolute favorites though were the Aurora prehistoric scenes model kits. I was always mesmerized by the art work on the boxes. I had every single one(I think there was 17 total) Around 4th grade I started to gravitate more to sports so when we moved at that time I didn’t really make a big deal when I found out my mother tossed them all out but for years still I wish I had them. 😂

Ok so this is weird...I LIVE in Stroudsburg, I know where this place is. I have NEVER stepped foot into there...but now I have to go there. But 21:18 stopped everything for me. I HAVE to go get that sugar bear ornament. I had one since I was a KID and it alllways went up on the tree. Sadly, I lost it in a move and haven't seen it in about 6 or so years. Stumbling on this video...and seeing that...I now have a mission!

Coca Cola tasted best in a glass bottle. This was great. I love seeing all these old toys and memorabilia. I may have mentioned it in the past but my math teacher in 11th grade had a comic book store in Downtown Melrose in the 90s. I wish you two could have seen it. I went in there with my buddy on my last day of high school in 1996 and my math teacher was showing us the unopened packages of KISS trading cards he had from the 70s. Edit: Later in the video, I noticed an old locker in with other stuff for possible sale. I'm not sure if it was actually for sale but it'd be interesting to have a locker in my bedroom, just something on my wall where I could store random junk.

I never would have thought to check antique stores to look for monster stuff. My minds eye of an antique store is a store stuffed with old furniture, clocks, and the like. Antique Road Show reinforced that belief.

Another great video. Love seeing all the vintage monsters items. Andy ? How much KISS stuff do you have. Would love to see it and your autograph collection. Have you guys done a video of your own personal collection?
@darkridedracula19 күн бұрын
Thank You!! We really appreciate it!! 🙏🧛🧛♀️ Hopefully next year we'll have the collection setup and displayed but right now it's not ....I don't have a ton of Kiss stuff anymore,just some Aucoin toys like the record player,rub n play,sleeping bag,radio etc....that stuff....I used to be a major collector and toured the country with a few Kiss tribute bands but I sold off most of that collection....still love the old school Kiss tho 🙂
@mikecogar859519 күн бұрын
Sounds like you still have some amazing pieces for sure. I used to have a ton of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazines and sold them off because I started collecting Hammer Horror books. I miss them. I do enjoy my Hammer soundtrack CDs. Great stuff. Can’t wait for the next video.

I still have my Planet of the Apes Mego figures from 50 years ago I played with as a kid. And I saw that Mego reissued the same exact figures and you can get them everywhere from $12 to $20. So much for me making a killing with them. Besides the NECA POTA figures they came out with 10 years ago are so much better anyway.

Typical overpriced Pennsylvania antique shop that is slowly disappearing...I run one in central Pennsylvania and business is not good anymore. 😢😢 The generation of real collectors disappeared the last 10 years and the Internet made it too easy to locate an item. (I don't buy on line because it's too easy to be scammed these days. )
