Sears Craftsman tools are the best. That is a great saw. It’s awesome that you still have pictures from past renovations. Great fix that you figured out.

The old Craftsman tools were great. The wall in the photo was one of the easier repairs. The other walls were more complex. I wish I had photos. Thanks, Annette.

come on now ... they WERE good tools years ago... anything that they sold in the last 40 years is JUNK !
@twinbrookacres9 ай бұрын
@diverdave4056 I agree. While I didn't say 40 years, I did say "old ". Even Black and Decker tools took a huge nosedive 40 years ago.

They don’t build them as good anymore. I’m sure you can buy some now that are as good but I’m sure also they would be cost prohibitive to most do it yourself people. Very cool old piece that still works! Very cool that you have the old pictures from your projects. Thanks for sharing Rick. Cheers, Mike.

Yes. Good quality is so expensive now. That is true for most products. I wish i had photos of the other walls I repaired. They were more complex. Thanks, Mike.

My first table saw was a 10” Craftsman back in 1990 gave it to my father-in-law when I decided to get a Ridgid. Weird those knobs ran away 😂. You’ll have a major cleanup to do on it but it will look good 👍🏻. Sounds great 👍🏻. Have a great week Rick 👍🏻🙂🙋🏼♂️

I'm sure the 10 inch craftsman saw was a good one and is probably still running. I have no idea where those knows went! I'll do another video on the cleaned up saw, if I get it done soon. Thanks, Luc.

How's she goin'? That Craftsman was quite the saw in it's day!! The cast iron top is a sign of a good tool. Interesting story about your house and how you managed to repair it and get the lumber you needed!! I like that!! Take 'er easy!!

It was funny that I searched for the proper lumber for a month or two, only to find it next door! I think the saw will outlast me! Thanks, Mike.

Thanks, Dave. I am always careful around my saws. Sorry for the late reply. I'm finding I have less and less time for KZbin these past several months. I unretired and started a full-time job, and took on some consulting work on the side.

Ģood afternoon Rick. That's a nice old table saw. Looks like it's pretty heavy. Should look good once you clean it up. I remember hearing some talk earlier this year that the US government plan to change table saw regulations because of the number of table saw injuries each year. Supposedly but I don't know if true or not, it may mean that all new table saws must have a blade brake and possibly no resale or gifting of any current table saws. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

Sears still exist?? Wow, antique tools. I am guessing they will be worth a lot like most things antique
@twinbrookacres6 ай бұрын
No, Sears no longer exists. Sears used to have a great tool line of quality tools. Some of the tools are worth a good amount of money. But, they were sold in huge quantities, so many still exist, which brings the value down. Thanks, Charline. - Rick

Nice video, I remember My neighbor having that same saw. I have a old craftsman table saw from about 30 years ago and use it every week. Couldn't help but notice your Seabee's hat.... were you a Bee? if so when were you in? and what units? I'm guessing a builder. I was a BU1 when i got out
@twinbrookacres9 ай бұрын
Hi. I wear the hat in memory of my grandfather. He was an original Bee. He spent 3 years on Saipan, Tinian, and (I think) Eniwetok (or Guam). He saw some horrific things. The old table saw still works well. Those old Craftsman tools were great! Thanks for visiting, commenting, and signing on. I appreciate it. - Rick

more info on the table saw and less on the house. I have a Sears Model 113.27520 dated 1952. I have rebuilt some of it Like a new fence system. My motor is the original 1 hp motor that I had rewind, it very heavy so tilting it to 45 deg. is very difficult but it works. The only issue I have is the pully on the motor vibrates and I don't know how to correct it. Oh, I had someone make me some insert plates so I can use a dado blade. Please let me know if you have any ideas how to correct the vibration.
@twinbrookacres9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info. Sounds to me like you need to balance the pully somehow. Or perhaps the shaft is bent. Thanks for commenting.
