It's worth more than that. It wouldn't surprise me if it went for 100k. That show was great.

I know. I was actually surprised the price was so low. When I heard about this video I actually REMEMBERED what the coat looked like. There must be millions of other people out there like me; and those willing to pay for it as well. I can't believe she's been wearing it to walk the dog. Very sad for O'Connor's legacy.

What a great jacket and a great story! It really needs to be in the Smithsonian, though.

This is a great idea. Problem is, the lady might want the money in her account. She would probably need one of the other stars to buy it from her and donate it.

Why would O’Connor’s family not have an auction for such iconic things?????

Not surprised at it's value at all. Something like this should probably be in the Smithsonian.

Coincidentally, Gordon is from Missoula MT, where O’Connor attended the University of Montana in the 50’s. Go Griz!

Carol O'Connor's house was probably full of a lot of valuable memorabilia. I surprised the family didn't auction off his belongings.

BS on the comments about the Smithsonian. Why should everything end up sitting there collecting dust. The family didn't think so, and they knew he wore it on the show for years. I doubt though, she's walking the dog with it with a price tag like that, I wouldn't trust having it around some people.

This should be in a museum for all to enjoy. Not in someone's closet, being used while walking their dog. Just saying.

You know what kills me is this lady said her father was a huge fan of the show and she's old enough to KNOW that the show was one of the top significant historical TV shows in America...EVER. Forget the fact the daughter-in-law either didn't care or wasn't smart enough to preserve things from Carroll O'Connor's estate. Maybe she was too close to the situation; but the woman who bought the coat...I mean come on. I'm constantly shocked by how culturally dumb the current American public is.
