Table Tennis is about having fun and getting good exercise--however if your goal is to be a top player--using anti spin or long pips out will never get you to the highest level. The top lever players create a strong offensive shot from backhand or forehand. Using anti-spin or long pips out inhibits one's ability to play the strong offensive game necessary to be a top level player. I am not a top level player--I use anti spin and I get a lot of enjoyment from the game---but when I come across a strong shake hand player say 2400---They just keep pounding my blocks until one goes through. They win the match--there are some nice points and I do win some nice long rallies---but in the end I don't win the match. Top level players adjust to the speed and spin variations --where intermediate players are thrown off course.

I love your playing style! I am considering switching to antispin on my backhand, but I am a little scared that I will not reach my current level with it. I am not exactly a beginner and would not want to play in very low leagues because I don't have a good antispin technique. Did you start playing anti spin when you were very young and with a coach who knew how to play with it? Do you think it is possible to get a good technique without someone looking over it? Anyway great videos keep it going!

Hi my friend! I want to share with you my journey. In 2015, at the age of 23 (after 7 years as a classic offensive player with 2 inverted rubbers) I finished the season with a personal best ranking. I had no reason to change my style, since my performance was great and I didn't want to ruin my ranking, but i was fascinated by the antispin world and I made the big move. I spent 2 months of training in the summer with a great desire to learn how to play with my new backhand. The start of the new season was a success. I beat a dozen of players better than me and i made a big jump in the ranking list. I never went back, i'm still loving to play with antispin!! No one has ever taught me how to use it. I learned by trying to imitate the most experienced anti players and watching youtube videos. Antispin coaches don't exist! :D Keep follow me, i will do an antispin detailed tutorial in the future! ;)

@@AndreaAschi Thank you a lot for the detailed answer! It is very motivating to hear, that you started when you were already in your twenties, just like me. I am so fascinated with the anti spin rubber and it is one of the greatest feeling to to get a good block on a topspin loaded with spin. Very motivating to hear that you just learned it by a lot of training and watching videos of good anti players. I already had some training sessions with the new rubber and it is really not as bad as i thought, since the forehand attack is my strength anyway and I used a lot of footwork to play forehand shots. Maybe the new style will even make my game more unpredictable. I will keep following you and I am looking forward for the new videos!

Nice! You were fired up this game did you lose to him before or something? Oh btw I have a question. Sometimes you choose to chop block, is there a certain shot you do it vs, is it accidental or is it to vary the game a bit?

Hi Nick! It's the first time i've played against him. It was an important match for the team. ;) I only use the chop block when i'm receiving a slow/medium fast ball with no spin! The wrist movement is necessary in those situations IMHO.

Your opponent would make a good loop then not understand why his next ball went into the net. When playing against frictionless anti,loop then push the next or just flat hit everything.

hello Andrea, very good video and skills. it's really weird table tennis championship difference between 2 countries. in France, the referree does not have to intervene, support, talking, making moves or anything else. it's not fair. how come this could be authorized in Italy. if he was in France, player or the "official commissioner" responsible of the match, claims to stop immediately

Is Antispin rubber same as Anti-Power rubber? Should there be a certain thickness to use those rubbers?Is the rubber getting dead after some times and need replacement?
@AndreaAschi
@AndreaAschi 2 жыл бұрын
No, it's a different rubber than Anti-Power because the surface has no friction. Sponge thickness depends on how fast is your blade.

Ciao Juri piacere mio! Spesso vado a sentimento. 😉 saluti!

I only use anti-spin against long-pips players because my footwork isn't fast enough to constantly defer to my forehand against long pips. Long pips are dirty against inverted rubbers. So, I use anti to "fight fire with fire" so to speak. But, as you can see in this video, a good anti player can beat a good inverted player too. Anti against inverted rubber player is even dirtier than long pips though...lol. Takes all the fun out of being a two winged attacker, "playing anti or long pips that is"...lol

Sounds like my Hallmark mirage which is like cardboard. Lol. Nice style similar to mine although I twiddle more possibly. I like chopping on fore and back with anti. I do hit as well which really disrupts the pace of game necessary for when opponents are confident about hitting through the anti.

@AndreaAschi
@AndreaAschi 2 жыл бұрын
Ciao!
