I interviewed Anton Newcombe before the Birmingham gig. Apologies for some sound technical issues and the shaky cam.

Anton is def an individual. I love some of his thoughts and insights on life in general which can be so f-ing bang on right! Yet he still has that edge that makes Anton ANTON. I saw him play live once in DC and he did a great show. No drama, no on-stage fights, he just played music which he does so well. He is a true Artist without even trying to be one ..... He could do nothing else. I also love that he remains so untouched by fame and success. He really is a musical genius.....

Haha ah love it!! I spoke to you after you did this interview with Anton. You did a great job! Never plain sailing with Anton...you never know what you are gonna get. Complicated character. So right about Marvel, Netflix etc...tuning our brains out from what is REALLY important.

I've met Anton...he doesn't suffer fools at all....I was really drunk and he was still cool to give me time and sign something for me.... although he did sorta give me a bit of a hard time, but hey that's Anton.

A Danish philosopher once wrote that one of the hardest things for people to do is just speak about themselves without using others to compare themselves with in order to prove their point, work, life, whatever. TRY ONLY TALKING ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR STORY WITHOUT BRINGING ANY OTHER PERSON INTO IT! I've tried it and it is extremely difficult. (Although, I just did it!)

@Joe Nicholson You're correct sir. Some people, like yourself, do well on this point. I suspect it is used mostly by people who need to justify themselves or their statements with examples of other people who either do or don't do the same thing in order to justify, compare, contrast, or to prove their point further. . . If someone else does it, then it validates me.

Yea, he’s very interesting And he writes very good poetry and I like all the instruments and sounds he and they use , shoe gaze and tambourine 👍, and the rest I hate how his fans are all kiss-asses though 😂 for some idea of how cool he is or whatever the fuck , they go to his concerts and they try to rebel in a way like him instead of themselves

People are always obsessed with people who don’t look like Arnold Schwarzenegger , but who you know wouldn’t back down from a fight and aren’t afraid to die and similar stuff. They go a little coo-coo He’s actually a gigantic kind of pretentious asshole 😂 but with a bit of some sort of humility But that doesn’t make his art any less good or him any less interesting. I mean I’ve yet to google an ariane grande interview or listen to her full album. But I still don’t ever wanna hang out with this dude lol. I’ve been around enough idiots in my life who feel the need to control their whole environment It’s kinda of like a Kurt cobain type of following he he’s, but also without the aspect of young suicidal death being some sort of cliche mentality or cop-out/in towards the following And without the “hole-awful” music video type of energy leading the pop culture vibing optimistically away from conforming, it’s kinda pessimistic rebellion most of his fans seem to have, but I do like reading them commenting kiss ass stuff on his videos , at least they kiss the ass of someone with a smarter type of individuality , and it’s a break from seeing everyone try long to emulate arianna grandes high ponytail and do a lip sync duck-face video

I always thought of shoegaze as underground slow indie alternative kinda stuff, kinda trippy feeling that you usually find in smaller venues ,and grunge is loud noisy guitar with kindaa punky alternative influence but can be placed in big arena rock environment aswell as smaller venues, musicians dress everyday person style,

@@stevencruickshank1846 yeah, that's the standard move. guys that drive tour buses and what not for a living call it "hot bagging".. They stash away all of the plastic bags from grocery shopping or gas station purchases and shit into those.. the next time they stop for food/gas they throw the shitty, used hot bags in the trash and replenish the plastic bag stash for the upcoming shit already in transit.. it's a very sophisticated system, too complex for us laymen to fully understand. I guess that's why they pay those guys the big bucks.
