Weiter so!!!!!!!!!

I really appreciate this. I'm embarrassed that I haven't heard of this composer before and frankly, it's a huge relief to hear a delightful work from this era that isn't the same "beating a dead horse" minor key, over dramatized display for the sake of it. Wonderful post, many thanks!

Tantos compositores tan infravalorados... Gracias.

I have known the second movement for years. To me, it is one of the most beautiful mournful excerpts in the piano+orchestra literature.

Listening to this and I just realize this was written in the year my house was build. I love this period, late 19th century

That's one genial piano concerto! And the soloist has so many many many notes to play!

The soloist is Oliver Triendl, a key performer in bringing lesser-known repertoire to recording. An absolute legend in my eyes.

@@owengette8089 Triendl sure has the virtuosic chops to play this. And agree, my hat is off to him for learning and playing these recherché piano concertos.

Does anyone out there have a recommendation for audio equipment that allows for orchestral clarity without brittleness? I know that's a bit off topic, but in as much as we love this type of music, I was just hoping for something that would bring out violas in orchestral textures. The post sounds great, I just need to upgrade.

Gorgeous. Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 0, a practice run written before his 1st, like Bruckner's Symphony No. 0.

I've been looking for this score for months! Where was it? Also, I have to point out the beautiful, unbridled joy of 6:46/15:41

I saw you could buy the score on Repertoire-Explorer, the German rare sheet music reprinting company.
