The Wasp is a brilliant synth. I always keep coming back to it. I record with a full band and it easily cuts through a mix.

I have to say that these are really musical and creative tracks, that truly show off the instrument. - much better than other toobs where noobs noodle around and make synths sound bad. - well done! -luv it

I have to admit, I didn't think much of this little mono synth clone from Behringer... they have a bunch of 'em and they all sound the same.... or so I thought. I ended up winning one of these in a raffle and what do you know! This thing is PHAT and it certainly does not sound like either the Behringer 2600 or the Poly D. The build quality is just as good as any, and I really enjoy using it. It has a unique sound that suits its name. Thanks for making this video!

I love my WASP… I was just messing around with it doing the bass in Sail (Awolnation) and holy chit…… both osc at 32’ and ENHANCED mode… slightly detuned getting that perfect slight phasing…..😁😍

These patches display your immense talents of course, but I just want to know how you're getting such a rich 70's tone here. Based on other YT demos SQ, it can't just be the synth. I'd love to know your recording chain and mixing/mastering secrets; they really bring out the character and tonal roundness of this instrument.

Thank you for the feedback. Actually, i didn't do anything special with the synth. Only delay/reverb. No eq or enhancement. No fancy plugins on master. Just fabfilter limiter. Recording - motu ultralite.

Yeah I get all kinds of goodness out of mine…. From the growling-est bass to sweet leads and plucks…. Throw some chorus on it for starters… then delay and reverb as he said 😊🐝🐝🐝

We, my friends and I, had the original Wasps, the Gnat, and the Spider Sequencer, and I am ashamed to say that it was, as kind of 'poor-mans' Moog (in our teenage minds of 1979) Great Synths really, Robert Rental The Bridge/Stranglers used them on their Raven album (I saw them live in 79 and they had at least 7 linked together in an early form of midi) but typical British, for want of an extra 10 pounds it was shitly made, and would fall apart after a couple of years. Still got some of original recordings/our original efforts. However, the New Wasp's are even better and tougher. I love them for what they are are 'Great Potential for the Imagination; So someone must of loved 'em and kept the flame burning for them! Like Moth to candle! Now how about MOTH Synth? Naaaaaaaaaaaa, Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

oh ok ! im truly looking forwards to the patches you will create with such a sound designing beast. Im currently in the process of getting to know my rev2 but I also need some patches that can get a groove going... Honestly the factory patches on it dont really do it justice. @@AntonAnru

Love your work but Behringer has never "introduced a characteristic sound". In this case, Electronic Dream Plant did with their 1978 Wasp and 1979 Wasp Deluxe. It's like attributing a band's sound to their tribute😀 band

@barnskimagroo5 ай бұрын
I have made silly and over opinionated comments before too. Maybe you have a point if one considers someone who makes no effort to understand the machine, but even then that person could be only music orientated. Hobby? I think you are making assumptions and projecting perhaps. You have no idea what specific people buy synths for. It may be a hobby to someone or it may be just an instrument for someone else. For me, the music always comes first and I am starting to not give a crap about how to craft my own sounds if I can still get them in the end anyway. It's all about the pitches, tempos, keys etc for me. Maybe it is a hobby for me but it's nothing too serious. Another point I will make is that buying soundsets for my Kobol helped me understand it a bit more. I can do negative. Really well. But I try not to anymore. I know I have just been negative about your comment but I consider it a double neagtive so it's positive.
