I’ve watch many videos with you teaching about turning the bat, but this one explained it the best. One simple movement with the wrist made all the difference.

Could you also incorporate a few full speed swings into these lessons so we can see what it looks like in motion

My daughter played softball then decided it wasn’t for her. Now she’s back in her jr year and wants to go back out for softball. I’ve been crash coursing your hitting advice and drills. Thanks for the insight. Wish we had videos like this when I was a kid.

Is there a certain way to try to hit the ball when you do tee work? I hear a lot of people saying to try to hit it to right center

Long as you’re staying inside= left field middle = center and hitting outside = right field

If back arm elbow gets in front then its basically collapsing and losing all of its power that the hitter was building up in the pullback.

Hey Matt: what do you suggest as some drills to exercise the hands turning the knob? I’m trying to rid myself of an armsy swing
@ThekiBoran2 жыл бұрын
Practice front arm only swings then slowly add the back hand without changing the swing you have with a front arm only swing.

Where should I hit the ball when I’m batting? I don’t hit nukes but I don’t hit dinks so should I just go for line drives?

Thank you. The armsy part is what my 6yo girl does. I'll try this method to fix it.

I think "hands" is a misnomer--your "hand" actions threw your forearms (I'd strain to call it wrists because then we're back to "hands"). It's really the forearm action that this is attempting to correct. It's an incorrect follow through with the bat--"they're not throwing their hands"--i.e. they're not hitting the ball with their forearms (hands). You _have_ to add the forearm (hands) swing to get power.

But why pull back with the bat up like that and not just pull back with it more level?
@danielpamaral28375 ай бұрын
There are only two swings pushy swings which are out in front of you or uppercut punch which is thrown from the body that's the fastest punch to the body or the chin.If you see MLB PLAYERS their top hand is a upper cut punch just like the Barry Bonds catch drill upper cut punch.Just like hitting to opposite field most Home runs are not hit opposite field if your not practicing hitting Homeruns then how can you hit them if you never practice lol
@danielpamaral28375 ай бұрын
Now the question is are they using the knob of the bat to whip the bat around and deliver the blow or are they using that top hand upper cut to deliver that blow. I believe Barry Bonds used the knob of the bat to whip the bat around.Because the bat most likely whipped his body around with that swing.
@danielpamaral28375 ай бұрын
Most likely MLB PLAYERS use the arm bar to help whip the bat around that's why it happens so fast.If you go slow motion home runs you'll see the arm bar no matter where the pitch is most likely there's always that arm bar.
@danielpamaral28375 ай бұрын
Then it's like a push pull while your knob goes back to the catcher you keep your feet together then step out to the pitcher with the foot that's closest to the pitcher to create that stretch to swing.
@danielpamaral28375 ай бұрын
Then you just wait a tick longer before you put that foot down for the offspeed that way there is no slack in your swing. Because once you put that foot down now you get slack.
@danielpamaral28375 ай бұрын
First regular stance with no stride to keep the weight back practice. Then put it all together with the step to generate the power . Have to try this stuff on the pitching machine lol 100MPH

I agree with everything you say but l think something has to get a little deeper first of all the barrel working back roll the barrel thing if hitters in baseball undstood moving into the power plane as described by John Schlee on his video of Joe Morgan and Ben Hogans swing you will see them do everything correctly you just described now take a peek at the Hogan twist. And l feel really important palm up palm down or palm down FIRST of all the palm only makes up 12.5 per cent of the hand the thumb makes up another 12.5 per cent so the fingers makes the remaining 75 so how you use the fingers is what really controls the palms positions the trigger finger on the top hand can be a trouble maker look at John Schlee again only talking about the role of the hands here but the hands are the connection to bat so much talk about body load moves and the hands but what about bat awareness l think there are3 things to be looked at there the knob and the sweet spot on the barrel but what about where the bat tapers now look at famous golf pro Eddie meetings and as he says swing the handle so take a look at that this really helps you get a tangent move off the lag or as Ken Griffey Jr said he was taught to stay long in the hitting zone understanding the swing works off the hitting zone from there if you get the power plane move you can work backward and foreward what do you think Matt
