When I look at old houses like this the only thing i can think is how many memories someone or many people have with the house. Like what kinds of people lived in this house.

Commentary is absolutely top-notch. Anton, my man, you might be a model, but to me you're a natural commentator, with a great soothing voice. Looking forward to the rest of the series this is super exciting. Cheers from France my dude.

I've been posting comments on Scandinavian House DIY for almost a year now, and the encounter is 70% (70%) my luck, 30% (30%) Anton's good luck. But on the contrary to see completion now, I am convinced that it is 30% my good luck and 70% (or 99%) is Anton’s hard work, charm of the handsome Anton.

If you get tired of the house, you should convert that into short term rental in middle of Tokyo and display kimonos and records as decor. I'm sure it'll be very popular with the tourists who'd like to stay in traditional Japanese house in middle of Tokyo....if not I'm sure you can sell the records to some cafe who are into those things.

That vinyl collection looks absolutely spectacular, I probably cry if I found something like that, even though I'm not a vinyl/music collector. From my point of view I think that belongs to some kind of museum, at least the archive, so it belongs to the people, I don't know. I'm not sure how cultural heritage works in Japan.

When people in japan shift from one place to another, they usually leave almost everything behind…. Its kind of a common thing there
@playfulpanthress
@playfulpanthress Жыл бұрын
@@napstergaming6738 Really? I don't think I could leave such a large collection of records, or kimonos without something having happened to me. It makes me sad that the previous owner didn't get to take their collection. Or that they died and none of their family cared about it. 😢
@napstergaming6738
@napstergaming6738 Жыл бұрын
@@playfulpanthress it’s a kind of saying there in japan, that to move forward to new beginnings we shouldn’t look behind… so basically previous belongings are like past and they barely carry any old stuff with them while moving. Even if you see the abandoned islands in japan… you could see the homes there look exactly the same while having everything in them just the way it was before they were abandoned
@playfulpanthress
@playfulpanthress Жыл бұрын
@@napstergaming6738 I hear you, but it's still sad to me.

As for those vinyls, discogs can give you a hint about the worth. I did it as well with my smaller collection. You have to set up an account and enter your collection, then it gives you min-max-avg prices based on previous sales of those vinyls. It is very time consuming, usually lots of stuff not worth much but then there are some surprises which are quite valuable.

Are there any neighboring plots that you can buy? Perhaps so that you could expand your house with a little traditional Japanese guarden and some green. Or build something more on that plot.

Love your videos!! Would be incredible to see the vinyls returned to the family of the previous owner. It clearly has huge sentimental value to an individual who put time into the collection. I know it's a big investment and if it has monitary value id understand if you want the money for the build 😊

There isn't much of a distinct history to Japanese music, since discourse such as review and presenting opinions on music historically was viewed as rude. Kind of the say and do everything to be appeasing and polite mentality applied to criticizing someone music. Anyhow due to this the part of the collection is certainly worth a lot to some, if not fiscally then in sentiment. Alot of people would be interested in a translation of that book detailing the records, and there might be some records that are not online. If you or someone could possibly check and make those unavailable online so, it'd be amazing! Bless

House is really beatiful, but needs a lot of work! Are you rennovating it for yourself or for selling? Is it legal to riun some parts of this house ( stairs, walls, doors) ? I am watching russian speaking architect/designer from Japan, she says often it is cheaper and more easy to destroy all old house and built from 0....

I would find the family of the former owner and see if they wanted it back. That is a fortune of a life time of purchases. The vinyl's were probably a key personality characteristic of the former owners. I imagine the house was abandoned because the home owner passed away and the family did not have the ability to deal with the left over house and personal effects. I would reach out and see if there way anything here of sentimental value they were unable to retrieve previously.

Classic pop culture merch always has monetary value to a large demographic of people. I am wondering though, since getting this far in to the digital age, how many things are worth collecting anymore? CDs? Lol Cassettes? nope. I think that collecting anything mechanical from pop culture is going to sky rocket in value. Think about it; records are from a completely different age of human existence. Incredible.

You should track down the previous owner and see if you can return it to them... find out why the house was abandoned. It'd be cool to just find out the history of it all. I mean nothing wrong with selling them too but if it were me, I just think that experience would be more valuable. P.S. LOVE the videos and hearing about your experience in Japan! I hope I can make it there someday. Kaerlige hilsen Nogen Amerikaner der kan dansk men ikke pratar svenska ;) Impressive how you speak English, Japanese, and obviously Swedish. You probably speak 2 or 3 other languages too. Typical European ;) Skaal

The video isn't bad but if I may it's a bit... Slow and silent. A very light background music would help with the silence your editing style leaves At 2:48, I thought you were about to make a joke about the disposal company because of the 2-3 seconds silence left. Going a bit faster (not epilepsy warning faster) or including some royalty free music at the back might help.

You know why it is abandoned, it means maybe there is someone died in that house thru suicide or the house is haunted thats why people abandoned it since japanese has a lot of suicide case and the place after that will sold very cheap or they even abandoned it. So its your house haunted? If its not then lucky you!
