Wow, so much different than in Germany & Switzerland. Here in many hospitals, brushes have been abandoned, because they can rather cause micro skin injuries. Before OR: thorough 1,5-3 min hands & arms desinfect using special liquid & method.

Not necessarily. It’s a good mixed of left handed people and right handed. You don’t have to be one or the other

Scrubbing will not make your hands sterile. You are surgically clean, you still can’t go and touch everything on the sterile field with your bare hands. You are still limited to what you touch with your hands, usually a towel that’s passed off and a gown before doming sterile gloves.

You would think hospitals would have a designated sink for surgical scrub-in where the sink has a motion sensor to prevent contamination from the handles, it is more expensive but probably will cost the hospital less in the long-run.
