The Antonov regularly lands at Prestwick. It is one huge plane and I do not understand how the tyres dont burst on landing or during take off. It is an awesome piece of engineering and despite its size, looks almost graceful in the air. Thank you for filming this beautiful bird.

This Anotov an-225 was heading from Maine US to Isreal carrying US Military Oshkosh trucks to be fitted with Iron Dome missile systems for the US Army. It was reported in February 2018 that the US Army had asked Congress for $373 million to buy two batteries off-the-shelf from Rafael which included 12 launchers, two sensors, two battlement management centers, and 240 interceptors. Washington wanted to have them delivered by 2020

sorry but i doubt the U.S. would contract with Ukraine to deliver munitions to Israel. It IS credible this aircraft has military aid for Ukraine aboard.
@jamstagerable4 жыл бұрын
@@BaikalTii The military armament is for the US. Isreal is only fitting the vehicle's with them and then sent to the US Army.If you doubt this just go look it up and see for yourself. The AN-225 is used for commercial shipping all around the world by almost any country willing to pay for it's services. Btw the US has been more and more active in cooperating with Ukraine for several years now.

Fantastic video Dafydd, though I do feel a bit disappointed that I didn't know about this stopover at the time, as I live 25 minutes away from Prestwick, on the South Side of Glasgow. Last week I saw what I thought was an unusual aircraft travelling over my home - it was a twin-prop, which reminded me of a WW2 era light or medium bomber. Of course I'm aware that there are a number of commercial twin-prop aircraft in service, and on Scottish routes, but to my mind it certainly didn't look like one of Loganair's Saab 340, ATR 42-500 or ATR 72-600. That's not to say that it couldn't have been any one of dozens of types of aircraft in common use, but it looked like something from a different time. Great content Dafydd.
