Are you serious? I can barely understand what she is singing, one or two words here and there and that's it. That's not a good singer. OK, she has a good tone, nice vibrato but her enunciation utterly sucks. Why write lyrics at all if you are going to mumble sing?

I have to make a confession. I heard this song first time in The Voice. It left deep impression on me and I had to find the original. First time hearing the original & every single next time hearing it I burst to tears, I'm literally sobbing. It awakens such deep emotion in me. I feel like angels are singing it. @@Jacques.dAnjou The span of my life covered a wonderful and free time, relatively, in humanity. I met a history student doing a PhD about 15 years ago. She was 30 and she reckoned that I had lived through the best and most exciting period of human history as far as being able to be involved in it. I first heard this song (and the rest of the album) in summer 2005. I was travelling through Vietnam and had it on my iPod. I played it for the first time as I sat on the deck of a boat slowly cruising through the jade waters of Halong Bay (Google image it if not familiar, it's as breathtaking as Anohni's voice). It was one of the most intense and transcendental experiences of my life. Anohni's music and vocals are so raw and cinematic - especially hearing them for the first time ever - it almost upstaged the landscape! Which is no mean feat in one of the most beautiful places on earth. But thankfully I was able to appreciate them both simultaneously. Whenever I play this song/album (about once a year) I'm taken straight back to Vietnam 2005. And once again I'm sat in the sunshine, on a deck of a boat, without a care in the world. That's the power of great music. This song / Album / Artist will always hold a special place in my heart, and soul, and memories...

First time uve heard this in a few years, but I remember watching this performance when it aired. This song stopped me in my tracks when it released. Beautiful, dark, heart wrenching, original, captivating, ethereal. A genuine milestone moment in music.
