2016, and it still worked for me like a charm! :) For the people who are trying it for the first time, though, the color that you will see in Odin (the latest version) isn't going to be YELLOW anymore, as seen in this video. It would just be color "LIGHT BLUE." And sometimes, it might not say "PDA" anymore, so you guys should use the "AP" button. Cheers to the maker of the video for this wonderful tutorial! :) Successfully got my Galaxy S5 Active to its stock rom.

Dude you are a pure genius! I bricked my S5 trying to root/flash CM11 on it, I was doing it on a Mac via VM Ware fusion, I missed the part where you had to unzip the stock rom, I got a ahold of a Windows computer and was able to unbrick it using this tutorial, thanks man I really appreciate what you do.

been having a real problem stuck in boot loop. did not install any custom ROM not sure the source of the issue but everything has been tried. I've fumbled with Odin and kites had a few issues there but this has to be the most thorough tutorial I've viewed out of more than 40 or so. I am hoping that this one solves it. I'll update progress but I liked and subscribed thank you for being so informative.

Using odin 3v185 is must. My phone was bricked by Kingo Root ( which may be didn't work for me) and now using this in combination with what I downloaded from SamMobile.com I got my phone back. even no data was lost. Thank you again to you, odin and Sammobile.com

+Hitesh honestly depends on what you're looking for buts a great phone plus comes with its own screen protector the battery is great and the double port charges super fast but do expect the phone to fuck up from time to time cuz this is a old model the camera is good also got finger sensors and also water proof

samsung has with it's latest android versions an build-in "flag" for rooted. i have heard it cannot be turned back to non-root (it's different than the triangle what it used to be). you are back to stock, but you do not have your warranty back

If you used TowelRoot and just rooted your phone. Still on original stock Rom. Can you just do the factory reset so your not rooted?

Quick question, so when you're rooted and then you want to unroot, using the odin method to flash back to the rom is considered "fully unrooted"? or just unrooted, until you do a full wipe and factory reset? I remember I rooted my device one time which was the samsung galaxy s3 back then, but for some reason I ended up with a modified rom status and was unable to get OTA updates nor reset my device for some reason. I'm only asking this because I want to root again but I'm scared this might happen again.

Alexandru Gabriel Go to samfirmware.com/ (You might need to register to proceed) then click on 'Check your firmware', Now here there is a section called CHECKER which lists Model, Product Code, PDA, CSC, and MODEM. Now click on Model and search for SM-G900F - GALAXY S5, click on Poduct Code and search your country but bear in mind you might see more then one of the same country like for mine: United Kingdom - VIR United Kingdom - BTU United Kingdom - EE United Kingdom - H3G United Kingdom - O2 United Kingdom - Vodafone This represents different networks within the UK. Once you have selected your choice the PDA, CSC, and MODEM will automatically generate a list of numbers so once this happens on your phone go to Settings, About device, Baseband version, now make sure the Baseband version number corresponds with the PDA, CSC, and MODEM if its correct then click on 'Check firmware' and 'Download'. Note: its a big file so it might take a while. I hope this helps :)

Help me please!!! I've gone through all the steps fine even up to it rebooting back and upgrading files. But then it gets stuck at my Verizon red screen and it wouldn't go into my phone. I've tried turning it off but it wouldn't so I had to remove the battery. But when I turn it on, it still gets stuck on that Verizon red screen. Its been almost 30 minutes.
